I couldn't really stay in the story, there were parts that felt disjointed, and the switching of POVs seemed quite random. And there were parts where the history of a place or person was told but felt like it was put into the story very randomly.

I enjoyed these essays, I really liked The Ponds, The Bright Eyes of Eleonora: Poe's Dream of Recapturing the Impossible, Some Thoughts on Whitman, Swoon, and Winter Hours. Very enjoyable essays overall.

This is a reread, and though I liked it the first time it's not one I feel like rereading after all.

Oh boy. What a wonderful continuation of Ninth House. I loved the characters' growth here, and being able to learn more of what makes them who they are. I also loved learning more about the history of lethe. I still love this world that's been built around these books.
