underdeveloped and difficult to get through :,)

with 6 pov changes, the book lost a lot of its character building and making the reader root for the characters. i genuinely did not care at all. and i really wished i did, because the premise was so interesting.

i was still intrigued but not quite what i hoped for.

the quote “life’s too short to read books you don’t enjoy” has been running round my mind a lot lately. and i was feeling very meh about this one unfortunately!

what started as a beautiful and lighthearted story quickly continued… mostly the same. and by that i mean, there was no development. within either the characters or the story itself.

i think this book could have done with another 100 pages or so, so we really got a feel for the characters themselves: particularly the children who were primarily used as comedic relief. i think this book had a wonderful premise but missed the mark when it came to the second half!

i still greatly enjoyed it but just wished i could’ve taken a bit more overall from the experience.

heartwarming, light and utterly delightful. if you still recognise me easily flew up to be a new favourite! it was quick, and beautifully queer with such a wonderful found family.

the focus on platonic relationships alongside romantic ones and going on a road trip to reunite lost love was just so :,))

it was a complete joy that truly helps you see all the best parts in life.

wow. i don’t really have much else to say at the moment but wowowow it was very good, and nothing like i expected it to be. but somehow so much more??? i can’t really talk about this book without spoiling parts but it was phenomenal and i highly highly recommend <3

i’m rating this a 5 star purely because i absolutely adored this world and it’s characters.

however, if i were a critical person, this would be rated lower due to its poor plot and rushed conclusion.

alas, i am not a critical person and remain feeling like my organs have been left on the outside of my body: make of that what you will <3

i binge read most of it in a few hours before bed (which was a very painful time)
