what started as a beautiful and lighthearted story quickly continued… mostly the same. and by that i mean, there was no development. within either the characters or the story itself.
i think this book could have done with another 100 pages or so, so we really got a feel for the characters themselves: particularly the children who were primarily used as comedic relief. i think this book had a wonderful premise but missed the mark when it came to the second half!
i still greatly enjoyed it but just wished i could’ve taken a bit more overall from the experience.
