i don’t say this very much but: if i do not get the sequel in my hands immediately i will combust.

i lovedddd this so so much, it was so funny and lighthearted but explored something deeper hidden beneath the surface. it was so gloriously queer and found family elements??? i adored

when people say percy jackson x the hunger games they are absolutely right. combining two of my favourite things and making it even better??? AHHH

so very very sweet and such a joy to read as the festive season grows closer! i had such a fun time with this book even if sometimes i found the humour felt a lil forced. for the most part, it was just… ya know, genuinely funny

i loved it v much <3

i have no coherent thoughts as of yet but: i adored this so much. the characters were so >>>> i owe wyatt and jin everything for explaining the trans identity so perfectly :,)

it was so fun, and lighthearted with a darker edge but if you’re looking for plot this probably won’t be great for you! as it is veryyy character heavy which i love!!

i did have a slight issue with the ending and how rushed i found certain elements in that aspect. and there were some lines that leaned more on the cringey side (as wyatt is VERY gen-z apparently, i love him)  but i loved the characters enough that i don’t want to rate it any lower 😌🫶

i wanted to love this so much more than i unfortunately did.

towards the end i think i grasped what my main issue was: the author primarily was telling rather than showing which led to a rather disjointed narrative. i couldn’t develop a connection to the overall story and… nothing happened? i could’ve skipped most of the book and still work out what was happening (nothing)

i think after loving last night at the telegraph so much i was hoping this book would give me that same visceral feeling but it unfortunately didn’t :(

i still overall enjoyed this read which is why i’m giving it 4 stars but im also really disappointed :,)

(the lil cameo was my favourite part <33 and analemma of course )
