This was a short, sweet sapphic romance novella about two best friends who have been in love with each other for a LONG time. Both too afraid to name their feelings out loud for fear of losing the most important person in their life. Amelia is about to open her own business, a wine bar in a quaint little town. Her best friend, Hadley, an avid traveler who never stays in one place for long, is coming to visit and help out with the opening. Their connection and love for each other is evident from the start. And whatever is going on between them is far from platonic... They share several deeply intimate moments together. And there were countless times throughout when I wanted to reach into my iPad and shake some sense into them! These two clearly belong together.

I loved the representation with Amelia as a demisexual person and the conversation she and Hadley had around sex. It was vulnerable and honest and showed how deep their connection was. Amelia also has fibromyalgia and I thought Halli did a great job showing how this illness impacts her daily life. It was also very endearing to see how Hadley cared for her and knew exactly what to do to help. Amelia’s and Hadley’s love for each other was truly palpable and leapt off the pages.

The dual POV was hard to follow at times because of how similar the two characters sounded. I often had to look back to figure out whose POV I was hearing. But I loved that we got to hear the story from both sides and experience the mutual pining and love they had for each other.

There’s also a super cute Maine Coon cat named Mr. Buttons, and Hadley made vests for him (and other animals) which was completely adorable.

If you enjoy low angst, friends-to-lovers sapphic romance, then this book is for you! It’s a quick and easy read, full of heart and hope. These two will definitely frustrate you at times, but you will be rooting for them every step of the way!

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This was a delightful, lighthearted love story full of amazing black, plus size, queer, and trans representation - all positive! It’s nice to read a story where the diversity rep isn’t focused on the negative and is just full of joy. Kris is an Afro-Latinx lesbian with a big family full of all kinds of love. And the parts with her family were some of my favorites! Kris also has all that bold, butch, sexy swagger that I LOOOVE to see! And apparently, so does D’Vaughn! Because she literally chokes on her drink the first time she sees Kris in all her studly glory.

I was super excited for this book because it had such an interesting premise. Unfortunately, while it was rather humorous and provided some good laughs, it fell short overall and had a few problematic parts as well.

This book had one of the most unique storylines I have ever read. There was A LOT going on at times (almost too much) but the premise as a whole was pretty great - a mid 30s queer woman deciding to have a baby on her own, finding a sperm donor through an app (because of course there’s an app for that

This book was everything I hoped it would be! Absolutely adorable AND steamy! I loved Grace and Phoebe from the start. They are opposites on so many levels and hardly seem to have anything in common except soccer. Grace is reserved and poised, always taking things seriously, and not one to joke around. Phoebe on the other hand is loud and boisterous, always running late, and your typical class clown. But somehow…these two just work. Their playful, flirty banter (that sometimes Grace doesn’t even realize is flirty) had me smiling and laughing out loud.

Grace is Phoebe’s captain. They should definitely not get involved. But after a week of showing Phoebe around New Orleans before the rest of the team arrives, it’s no longer possible for either of them to fight their growing desires. But a relationship is out of the question. So they become friends with benefits. But it’s not hard to see that there’s a lot more going on than just sex. No matter what they say…to each other or themselves.

You can sense their connection from the start. And more than just sense it.

Shannon Brycen is all about the self-deprecating humor. So much so that she drunkenly creates an account on The Rainbow Room (a lesbian dating site) with the username Pitifully Ugly. Shannon was done with all the horrible blind dates her sister had been adamantly setting her up on and decided to take matters into her own hands. In her attempts to weed out the people just interested in hook-ups she managed to find a couple decent people. She also befriends the very cute new neighbor and her four-legged friend. But there are some secrets Shannon will have to unearth along her journey.

Some of her dates though… OMG! I have never laughed so hard at a sex scene before! Awkward and uncomfortable on so many levels. IYKYK!

I’m always down for anything narrated by Abby Craden! And it’s football season, so of course I’m going to read a football book.

I love a good friends to lovers story and Jae did not disappoint with this one! Regan and Kylie (or Ky only to Regan) have been best friends since childhood. Ky is pretty much part of Regan’s family. But that’s all they are. Friends. Right?

Everyone in their lives - from Regan’s family, to their friends, to people in the school where they both work - think they are a couple. It never works out with anyone else. They rarely ever even date at all anymore. They are always each other’s plus ones. And well…they just act like a couple. Tired of the constant comments and pressure from other people about the nature of their relationship, Regan (being the chemistry teacher that she is) decides the best way to put a stop to all of it is to do a little dating experiment to prove there is no chemistry between them. It’s just 3 dates. With your best friend of 25 years. Who knows you better than anyone else. Who’s your safe place and the one person you can’t live without. What could possibly go wrong?

The experiment doesn’t go quite as planned. Especially after that unintentional and steamy goodnight kiss…. Both women are left to figure out if this “chemical reaction” is just because of the romantic nature of their dates, or if there might be chemistry there after all. And if it’s worth risking their friendship over.

I loved this story and the connection between Regan and Ky. These two truly were meant for each other and you can see their chemistry throughout the whole book. The cheesy chemistry jokes were perfection and fit Regan’s character so well. This one is definitely a slow burn romance, especially if you count the 25 years of friendship before the book takes place, but it is so worth the wait!

It took me a little bit to get into this book. It started both slow and fast in some ways, giving you background on the friendship between Eddie and Rose leading up to where the story really begins with the debutante ball. I stopped listening for a few days and then picked it back up to try again and I am glad I did! There were a lot of fun and quirky characters in this book, lots of humor, and copious amounts of shenanigans!

The story is set in the Regency era and told from the perspective of Eddie, who is frustratingly oblivious and intolerable for a good portion of the story. If you’ve watched Bridgerton, think Eloise - but a bit more annoying and insufferable. There were several times throughout the story where I thought, “This is the moment!” But she had A LOT to learn. And some things she had to learn more than once. People driving next to me were probably wondering what was going on with how many times I was yelling at her throughout the story!

The story was much more about Eddie’s relationship and infatuation with her idol, author Nash Nicholson, than it is about her relationship with Rose. So it kind of felt like there were dual romantic plot lines to follow, but the main one is still Rose and Eddie. While they are clearly into each other and more than friends from the first chapter (with their kissing practice), Eddie is absolutely clueless to the fact that her feelings for Rose are more than friendly. No matter how many times they kiss. Or how much she wants her life to revolve around Rose, to the point of making a pact that they will never get married. Rose gave Eddie far more chances than I ever would have, or than she probably deserved. But…love, am I right? I do hope that Eddie became the person Rose deserves, though.

Ellie Kendrick did a great job with the narration! This was my first time listening to a book she narrated and I would definitely listen to her again. All in all this was a great book…but prepare to be frustrated and to yell at Eddie as you read/listen!

I received an advance copy of this book through NetGalley and Macmillan Audio and I leave this review voluntarily.
