This was a delightful, lighthearted love story full of amazing black, plus size, queer, and trans representation - all positive! It’s nice to read a story where the diversity rep isn’t focused on the negative and is just full of joy. Kris is an Afro-Latinx lesbian with a big family full of all kinds of love. And the parts with her family were some of my favorites! Kris also has all that bold, butch, sexy swagger that I LOOOVE to see! And apparently, so does D’Vaughn! Because she literally chokes on her drink the first time she sees Kris in all her studly glory.
