This is the second book in the trilogy and I quite liked it, definitely better than the first one. The idea that magic system works using pain or memory is fantastic.
Plot is okay so far The pace of the story does leave a bit more to be desired, though given that it is the author's only second book I guess we can let it go.
Eagerly waiting for the third and final book.

Damn! What a book! Loved it!
As is inevitable, one would compare it with The Martian, and so would I.
It is slightly more sciency than Martian, and as good as Andy Weir is at explaining complicated physics or biology or chemistry in this case, some parts might still remain inaccessible to general public. That just means you won't understand how a specific thing works. Lack in scientific understanding, in this case I believe, takes almost nothing away from the plot or story line. You still enjoy it almost as much.
And the author certainly took a bit more liberty with the boundary of science than he did in The Martian. Somethings are questionable, from the standpoint of physics of it, but hey it's sci-fi even if hard sci-fi, so one has to let it slide.
Overall, a great book from the author and more than makes up for the disappointment I felt after reading Artemis!

How on Earth is the book so random and yet so brilliant? At times, as I was reading the book, given its randomness I loudly had to say "matlab kuch bhi". And each of those instances were hilarious.
Fantastic book. Can't wait to read the next one.

Terry Pratchett's books continue to be ridiculous and hilarious.
He brings the most unthinkable situations to compare and they are outright ridiculous yet so apt!
