RE-READ FOR THE MOVIE.
As I've read this for now the third time. This time I really understood the meaning of "strings" and seeing a person as a person not just a thought. I really understood the message of this book this time around. Every time I read it I'm remembered of how much I love it and why I love it.

MY REVIEW
Throughout alternating perspectives, we meet Zac and Mia who are both Australian cancer patients; later in remission. Zac and Mia are very great characters, throughout the story we get to really get to know them as characters before knowing them together. Zac has a great family, which is focused on in this book and Mia is trying to escape her life.
One day, Zac hears a new patient come into the room next door, he asks his mom to scope out who it is and such. Zac is greeted by Mia when she starts blasting a Lady Gaga song in her room on repeat and won’t stop. He starts banging on the wall to get her to stop, but…she doesn’t. Eventually, Mia knocks back and knocking becomes their “thing”.
While reading this book, I felt Red Band Society vibes, which is a show that aired on FOX set in a hospital. This book felt like it focused on the RBS characters, Leo (Zac) and Kara (Mia). Their personalities are very, very similar. Mia is a popular girl who really wears her ♥ on her sleeve. Zac is a witty, friendly, & all around nice guy who is in-love with Emma Watson. He’s such a nerd! He’s binged all the Harry Potter movies one day when he was bored! I WANT TO WATCH THIS SHOW AGAIN NOW. #riprbs
They both have different reactions towards their cancer. Mia is very angry and aggressive toward it by shutting people out such as her boyfriend, her mom and her friends. Mia feels that she has to escape and just keeps running as far as she possibly can…like to Zac’s farm/home?
Like I mentioned, Zac has a great sense of humor and is a very nice guy. But, he’s obsessed with statistics. He’s constantly reading cancer statistics and thinking about them, a lot. His internet history probably consists of Facebook, Emma Watson, cancer stories and statistics. Zac learns a lot about cancer statistics by the end of this book.
Emotion is a main focus throughout this book. We are able to see Mia’s emotions toward getting cancer, post-cancer and how-to be a friend. Zac is so good for her, he shows her what it’s like to be a friend and she ends up being very grateful for him and their friendship really develops. We see Zac at his best and at his worst, which is very interesting because we meet Zac when he’s very cheery and seeing him almost mute is really upsetting. This book isn’t very sad, but there are some parts that are heartbreaking.
I rated this 4/5 stars because the book is written in Australian with slang and areas that I was very confused b/c I am American and this is throughout the whole book. Although, I’m sort-of educated in Aussie now! I was just confused when the Aussie slang & stuff was mentioned.
You should definitely go pick this book up, I highly recommend it! This story is very different and Zac & Mia are very great characters with nice character development. If my review intrigued you, definitely go pick this one up especially to experience Zac’s humor.

I love Rachel Cohn and David Levithan writing together. Cohn is hilarious and awesome with dialogue! Warning for lots of curse words including the f-bomb. Don't listen to audio aloud, definitely need headphones! Realistic story about music lovers, break-ups, and coming of age. If you've seen the movie before reading the book, it's very similar!
3.5 star RATING
This is my first book about 9/11 and because of this topic, I wanted to read it. I was only in first grade on 9.11.2001. So, I wanted to read a book in the POV of someone who was experiencing it.
Kyle's school has let out when the first plane hits the Twin Towers in New York. He's walking home when he discovers a girl, wearing wings and leaning over the bridge. Kyle quickly discovers that the girl has amnesia when she simply can't remember her name.
Kyle has to take care of his Uncle Matt, who is paralyzed from a motorcycle accident three months ago. His father is helping the victims through a few nights and his mother & sister are stuck in California.
One thing that threw me off by this book was the romance I felt that it wasn't needed as much, and I was hoping the book would focus more on Kyle's struggles and the girl finding her way back home.
I would recommend this if you're looking for a Young Adult book about teenagers experiencing 9/11.

4.5 stars out of 5 stars. This was the perfect bookish Christmas story!! Rachel Cohn and David Levithan write beautifully together!! I loved all the clues and mystery of this book.
This book felt like an episode of the show, UnFabulous that starred Emma Roberts and a hint of Ally from the Disney show, Austin & Ally.
Lily is passionate about her music and writing songs in a journal that she won't let anyone read. She also likes to sew when she isn't tending to her little brothers every need or helping her family out. (I really liked that Lily had multiple hobbies other than her music).
One day, in boring Chemistry class Lily spends her time writing lyrics on the desk she's sitting at. When she comes back the next day, her lyrics have been added to. Behold...Lily's new pen pal! Lily and her mystery pen pal write on the desk back and forth until they eventually go to notes.
This story isn't all about Lily and her anonymous pen pal. It's also about her feud with her best friend's ex-boyfriend, Cade. You'll see Lily's snarky side whenever Cade appears. And Cade appears a little too often for Lily's liking.
You'll also see her dysfunctional family who has a blindfolded pumpkin pie eating contest on Thanksgiving and her little brothers, Jonah and Wyatt who are always up to something!
I devoured this book. It was my first Kasie West book and it had me craving all of her books at once. I really liked Lily as a character. I could relate to her so much besides singing and writing songs which I don't do.
I have a full video review of this book if you want to know my thoughts on the spoilers.

After reading this book I can truly believe that will be having a great reading year. Omg I am speechless. Jessie is so freaking relatable it's crazy! I love how she's a book nerd and knows who she is. Her dialogue felt like I was talking because she said so many things I would say. I need to be more coherent to write this review but oh damn this book was so good!!!!!
Jesse is dealing with the loss of her mother, moving from her hometown of Chicago into a new house in LA with her new stepmother. Jessie is hit with a lot of changes at once, they have a maid named Gloria and climate change. Jessie starts off the book with a lot of culture shock and having to adjust pretty quickly with little explanation from her father.
Then comes a message from SN aka Somebody Nobody who reveals that they are a student from her new school. SN is Jessie's first friend at this school, SN helps her through her first semester by telling her who to befriend, who she shouldn't sit near (like, the classmate who farts a lot) and how to get around the school. I wish I had an SN when I started high school, this would've helped me through my freshman year!
So, SN was right and Jessie does okay with adjusting to her new school and a new friend group. She also LOVES BOOKS. Especially YA BOOKS. She's super relatable to the point where I was like, ...Jessie are you me? Seriously! It was like she was talking my words. Insane.
This book will keep you guessing to find out who SN really is! Lots of twists and turns. Highly recommend <3
I liked the theme of changing in this book and new beginnings. Jessie learns a lot about her move to LA and how her friends lives still went on.

5 out of 5 stars to Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley. This book well deserves five stars and even more. Excellent book about mental health and friendship told by Solomon Reed and Lisa Praytor.
Solomon Reed hasn't left his house in three years since an incident that occurred in middle school where he took his clothes off and ran into the fountain. Solomon Reed is agoraphobic (an anxiety disorder that often develops after one or more panic attacks) and a Star Trek fan.
Lisa Praytor is seeking to get into a psychology program at Woodlawn University to leave Upland, CA where she resides. She decides to find Solomon Reed and "fix" him and write her essay for admissions on her personal experience with mental illness. However, she and her boyfriend Clark end up becoming friends with him.
Family matters in this story. We have Solomon's parents who are awesome they are very accepting and not too overbearing. Also, Sol's grandmother who he is very close to. strong familial relationships are very present! Especially with Sol and his grandmother, she talks about her deceased husband, you can really see the bond they have.
Mental illness is portrayed spot-on in this story. From JCW's personal experience with panic attacks, he describes Sol's panic attacks and anxiety in depth. Personally, I have never experienced panic attacks, and so it was very helpful to have the descriptive scenes when Sol would have an attack. That was one of my favorite parts.
Overall, I enjoyed this book so so much. I never wanted it to end. It was such a great story and everyone needs to read it.
