P.S. I Like You
by Kasie West
This book felt like an episode of the show, UnFabulous that starred Emma Roberts and a hint of Ally from the Disney show, Austin & Ally.
Lily is passionate about her music and writing songs in a journal that she won't let anyone read. She also likes to sew when she isn't tending to her little brothers every need or helping her family out. (I really liked that Lily had multiple hobbies other than her music).
One day, in boring Chemistry class Lily spends her time writing lyrics on the desk she's sitting at. When she comes back the next day, her lyrics have been added to. Behold...Lily's new pen pal! Lily and her mystery pen pal write on the desk back and forth until they eventually go to notes.
This story isn't all about Lily and her anonymous pen pal. It's also about her feud with her best friend's ex-boyfriend, Cade. You'll see Lily's snarky side whenever Cade appears. And Cade appears a little too often for Lily's liking.
You'll also see her dysfunctional family who has a blindfolded pumpkin pie eating contest on Thanksgiving and her little brothers, Jonah and Wyatt who are always up to something!
I devoured this book. It was my first Kasie West book and it had me craving all of her books at once. I really liked Lily as a character. I could relate to her so much besides singing and writing songs which I don't do.
I have a full video review of this book if you want to know my thoughts on the spoilers.
