The last 100 pages were so exciting I'll definitely buy the second book.  It took FOREVER to get there though. I feel like the book could definitely be trimmed down.  I both like and dislike Serilda, I love-hate the Erlking, and I am indifferent to Gild. The lore in this book is great to read and I like Marissa Meyers writing, which is why I wanted to read this in the first place.

Poorly written, wooden and unrealistic dialogue, SO many grammar or formatting errors. No chemistry between Vhalla and the prince (he pushes her off a 4th story window and she forgives him because he "knew she wouldnt die") and all the relationships are told and not seen and poorly developed.

This book was way better than the first one, because so much was happening and that means Jaxon and Grace didn't have time to be Jaxon and Grace.

Hudson is the Wattpad boyfriend of my dreams. He's sarcastic, he's British, he's tortured inside, and he's evil...or is he. And he's constantly jealous of Jaxon about Grace. THIS is the trashy romance I want.

There were more formatting/grammar issues in here than I noticed in book 1, and again there was a comment made that everyone seems to have forgotten. It's stressed that while playing supernatural hot potato everyone on your team has to touch the ball once to win, but multiple times Grace is thinking about how X has the ball and is so close to the goal and ending the game, and I'm thinking Grace half your team hasn't touched the ball??

Also Grace needs to stop filing shit away in her mind to "deal with it later". You know you're not! DEAL WITH IT NOW.

Very cute and informative. The art was great and I'm glad it wasn't a majority of screenshots from the show.

The first half of this book was pretty strong, but I found myself succumbing to boredom/annoyance the further it went.
I like the attention to detail we got on the Sivoan and Eeiauoan culture, how they differed after 2,000 years, and why they split. I liked that Uhura's language and singing skills are needed to solved this mystery. The writing is very good,  as well as the characterization of Uhura, Kirk, McCoy, Spock and Chekov.

On the other hand Uhura has maybe 30% screen time in this novel. Most of the attention is paid to Evan Wilson, who is perfect at everything and who both Kirk and Spock seem to show interest in. She takes up a LOT of the novel and I just wish Uhura had been featured more prominently since that's the reason I was interested in the novel! The ending focuses more on Evan Wilson than Uhura reuniting with her sick friend Sunfall.

I finished this book in under 24 hours it was so good. The author does a great job of building suspense, making you feel the unease that Devon and Chi feel, and making you really sympathize with them. They're both wonderful characters and I love them so much,  tbh.

The depth of the racism these characters experience is nothing new and the author really showed how it's spread across all divides. Even the racism you experience in your own home when having a white parent.

What do I even say????
I really liked the writing style, the suspense, and the biologist. The ending frustrated me so now I need to finish the series because I've been given barely any answers.

Ellie and co are so funny. The relationship reminds me of Wolf Girl & Black Prince but softer.

This was such a emotional and perfect ending.  The struggle that Hanako and Alice go through is so real, and I'm hoping the author does a sequel as he says in the ending note.

This story is told in 3 parts with centuries between them,  which is fascinating. It's a really good hypothetical on post nuclear warfare and how we advance as a society just to destory each other over and over. Obviously super religious so I probably missed a lot of nuance since I wasn't raised Catholic/Christian.
