This is certainly a weird book. And by weird I mean it was highly entertaining. I liked every single character, the bad and the good. There are so many interesting ideas in this book. Oh and I really loved the relationship between David and Amy! It was obvious how much they really love each other. Now I'm going to read John Dies At the End as soon as I possibly can.

It took me two months to read every single story in this massive collection. While there some I didn't particularly enjoy, the majority of the stories were fun to read. My favorites were:

The Spider by Hanns Heinz Ewers

Don't Look Now by Daphne du Maurier

Sandkings by George R.R. Martin

Yellow and Red by Tanith Lee

It's a Good Life by Jerome Bixby

Family by Joyce Carol Oates

There are many more I loved but there are so many stories and talented authors in this book. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to read some creepy and weird stories. Just be prepared to spend a lot of time with it, because it is just so big but still worth every second.

And I really, really loved that the pages are double columned. For some stories it did feel like a chore but for the ones I enjoyed it was nice having so much to read on a page.

This was a real page-turner of a book despite how short it is. I really hated Todd though. He was such an asshole to Jodi and Natasha. I know there are people who probably hate Natasha, but all the blame goes to Todd in my opinion. If I had been younger when I read this I probably would have hated Natasha for being a "homewrecker." Also, I kind of already knew who would end up getting for the murder of Todd because it was predictable. Despite his regrets at the end, I was still glad when Todd died.

It seems like every book that features an imperfect marriage is compared to Gone Girl. The comparison doesn't do this book any favor because Jodi is nothing like Amy besides the fact that they both have to resort to extreme measures to protect themselves in a world that is not kind to women, but Todd is kind of similar to Nick in the sense that they are both assholes with a sense of entitlement.

I like how awkward Hideo is. He is definitely a likable protagonist. It is very amusing how he continues to constantly try to be polite and not break the law despite the fact that things are all weird. This manga also manages to make me feel bad for the zombies, like
Hideo shoots the zombies while it holds a picture of its family
or when
the taxi driver is talking about his granddaughter before he turns into a zombie (although it was funny that Hideo paid him anyway)
Hiromi is also a great and I love that she is a realistic female character who has her own struggles to overcome. I am so glad that she
didn't get in the car with those creeps
I look forward to reading the third omnibus, if only I didn't have to wait so long for it.
