I love this book I've lost count on how many times I've read it.

I got this book because the first one Blonde with a Wand was one of the first I bought on my Kindle and I loved it!! I am a big fan of Vicki to begin with so I had high hopes for this novel. I shouldn't have built it up in my head so much because I was disappointed. First off, there was no real sense of the characters falling in love so much as falling into bed thanks to the adoration elixir that Lily made. Second it's really hard to not want to shake Lily because she used magic for her own selfish reasons to get Griffin to like her. At least with the other book it was a simple mistake that cast the spell but Lily did this intentionally. Plus the ending felt really thrown together and kinda felt like you ran into a brick wall. Cute enough but not as good as the first and defintely not one of Vicki's better novels. Read it if nothing else to see how the other sister is if you've read the first one but don't set your hopes too high. The idea behind this story is a good one and intriguing which is why I picked it up. However it can be a bit difficult to get through especially with the few chapters told from the male character's POVs and I only say that because they seem unneceesary since they are only 5 chapters total out of the book and the seeds planted there never fully get deveoped (such as Xan's story).

It's painful sometimes to read Clare and how naive she is not so much with her kids as with her overall life (case in point her business...she was well established in that before she got married and logic should have told her to *not* let the husband have any access to it whatsoever). Jenna while good with the kids is not necessarily someone I would want watching my kids because of the situations she places herself in and by default the children. Their back and forth relationship seemed a bit forced especially considering they are at the end of the day employer/employee.

It was okay--I felt the ending was a bit rushed and tried to be tied neatly together but ultimately didn't do a good job of it. I would like to read other stories by the author but it's doubtful I will pick this one up again.

This was a pretty good book. The humor in it brought to mind Johanna Lindsey's Mallory novels and Julia Quinn's Bridgertons. I found the chemistry between the hero and the heroine very well written and I liked that she wasn't an empty headed socialite (even though of course there was a degree of naievte). And personally I even found the ending a bit surprising as to whom she was looking for. The ending felt a bit rushed; not necessarily thrown together but everything seemed to have gotten tied together a bit quickly but overall a pleasant read and I wouldn't mind picking it up again.
