This book is mistitled... It is a small art exercise book with specific tasks and prompts. As such it's good, a nice challenge. It's just not really about freehand sketching as I understand it.

Perhaps the most beautiful book I've ever encountered. This is a reproduction of a young Englishwoman's meticulous fishing journal... Where she fished, what she caught, what flies she used. But it's more than that... It's a beautiful - gorgeous - watercolor journal. It's a testament to a long life of passion,t5he image of a strong woman who knew exactly what brought her joy.

Carl McColman's Big Book of Christian Mysticism is a readable and engaging introduction to Christian contemplative spirituality. It is well written and well researched, and will be helpful on the bookshelf of any who wish to experience God in prayer.

This is a young, wise, funny Thomas Keating presenting on his home subject of centering prayer. It's the best resource I've encountered on the subject, especially good for readers who want a treatment of the psychological aspects of centering prayer.

After returning my library copy, I'm purchasing a copy of this one for my shelves.

If I could only carry around one book of poetry the rest of my life, this would be it. (If I could count Whyte's friend [b:To Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings|1211497|To Bless the Space Between Us A Book of Blessings|John O'Donohue|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1409272775s/1211497.jpg|1199882] in another category). I read this collection and went on to devour everything I could from Whyte.

The twin subjects are pilgrimage (especially on the Camino in Spain) and eulogies for O'Donohue. Both opened my heart and wooed me.
