Dated and uneven, this summary of some of the better and lesser known Irish saints is a decent read.

The earlier chapters on The Falling World, St. Columcille and St. Aidan are the strengths of the book, while the chapters (by other writers) on Columbanus (my least favorite chapter), Gall, Virgil and Cathaldus are not as intriguing. That's a pity, as we know the stories of the first three (and Columbanus) better than the others.

Overall an OK resource for your Celtic Christianity bookshelf, but if you have to pay anywhere near what I did ($20ish), pass and don't worry about it.

Evans' text on Pelagius is a careful and balanced summary of the maligned Celtic theologian. Evans looks at Pelagius' interactions with Jerome and Augustine, and summarizes Pelagius' theology in good detail.

Though relatively brief, Evans' book is a very helpful introduction to the work of an important thinker in early Christianity.

I enjoyed hearing O'Donohue's thoughts in audio form, as a bit of a lecture. The structure is different from the later Kindle and print version of the content, but it's pretty similar. In particular, O'Donohue's stories and his descriptions of time and of death from the Celtic perspective were highlights.
