Dated and uneven, this summary of some of the better and lesser known Irish saints is a decent read.

The earlier chapters on The Falling World, St. Columcille and St. Aidan are the strengths of the book, while the chapters (by other writers) on Columbanus (my least favorite chapter), Gall, Virgil and Cathaldus are not as intriguing. That's a pity, as we know the stories of the first three (and Columbanus) better than the others.

Overall an OK resource for your Celtic Christianity bookshelf, but if you have to pay anywhere near what I did ($20ish), pass and don't worry about it.
