I had a fun time reading the book. While it’s part of a series, it could comfortably be read as a single book. Loved the characters and their banter, it was fun. 

It took me a moment to get past “goose flesh” instead of goosebumps. Also, the ebook changed the font of the letters. It was easier to read as a physical copy. Once the book was physically in my hands, I devoured it. The characters are so special in that they don’t have all the right answers, they’re not “super” in that they’re so protected in plot armor you know they won’t die. It was refreshing. 

I was stunned even though I was looking for plot twists and questioning everybody. 

This really broke down into three parts for me. A fun beginning, a slow middle, and a nice conclusion. The middle made me put the book down for a while, but the ending poems were worth it. 

There was a lot of feminine rage and about the power of being alone. I think it would’ve been a better read if there was also emphasis on even the important of friendship throughout rather than being dramatically alone. 

This is a fun story, one where I genuinely felt concerned for the main character. Molly just wanted to go to work and pay rent, not be thrown into a murder mystery. 

Reading a villain origin story is hard, especially when we know the horrors he does to a loved hero in other books. 

That being said, I found it interesting from a nature vs nurture perspective. Snow hates anybody not from the Capitol, the poor, and those who stand in the way of things/people he considers his. There were many times when Snows thought on women made me roll my eyes. Yet, there were moments where, if Snow had other people to encourage him and a different environment, the argument could’ve been made that he would be different. 

I loved these poems and the artwork that accompanies them. They were moving and made me want to buy a copy of this book for my partner so they can enjoy them too. 

If I thought the first book was five stars, then this book is six stars. I liked how different characters grew and changed throughout this book.This one is going to leave me in a book hangover for a while. 

Loved that this was mildly spooky, it’s hair raising not nightmare inducing. 

Love that this is a LGBT+ friendly read. 

The mirror was my favorite character with witty comments. Basically if you’re looking for a spicy Grimm retelling, this isn’t a bad option.
