The way this book ran through my emotions, omg. I don’t think I ever finished a book so dense this quickly.

Really, poetry surrounding a study of the relationship of women with women, mothers and daughters, and women with men. This collection left me feeling the duality of sad and angry, but also proud to be a woman.

This was a great collection of poetry and I’m so excited to read the next book. It’s the right amount of vulnerability, feminine rage, and encouragement.

The pieces from the perspective of Aphrodite really stood out to me. This was a good day read but one I will come back to. This piece made me feel feminine rage and also made me feel like it was okay to not feel feminine all the time.

I found this book more enjoyable than A Touch of Darkness. I think if you wanted to start with this one, you’d actually get more world building. Frankly, Hades is just a more complex character than Persephone, and he had more knowledge of divinity and the gods - so it made the powers make more sense.

This book had me guessing what happened to Lydia, if the family was going to break up or stay together, and just left me feeling all sorts of emotions. This feels like a truly unique read.

Truly, would recommend if want to feel sad.

This book just wasn’t for me, but I can see somebody else enjoying it

I cried, felt hopeful, and felt the weight of womanhood on my shoulders. My big take away was that I should really call the women in my life to see how they’re doing, because we do better when we have community. I think I really needed that message.

This book honestly should be required reading, especially in a world where there is systematic oppression. This book made me cry, it made me feel hopeful, and it made me feel all the anger I felt during 2016 whenever somebody is harmed by the system that should be protecting us.

This story also highlights the struggles of friendships, school, balancing different personas, and interracial relationships.

This collection of poems made me feel sad, hopeful, and reflective. I’m happy to have read it.
