This book showcases real life, told in poignant and relatable fictional prose about love, loss, tragedy, adolescence, middle age, divorce, reconnection, parenting, and more. Phenomenal. And not just because it was Judy Blume, though that certainly helped. The story of what happens to a town wrought with tragedy of not one but 3 plane crashes in 58 days, the story of how life goes on despite that, the story of how the inhabitants of Elizabeth, NJ are forever changed because of what they saw. Life. Love. Disaster. Reconnection. This book has it all. Judy Blume has said that this was the book she was meant to write, that all of her previous work was practice or rehearsal and, having finished it, I'm inclined to agree. I love all of her work, but this is something special.
Phenomenal book. Absolutely phenomenal lens shift in child-rearing and therapy.

The timing this book landed in my hands cannot have been more perfect, and the method it landed in my hands could not be more ironic, though that is a story for another time. This book is such a practical guide to moving out of burnout and back into living - and was a light along my path to making a substantial life shift to make the practical tips even *possible* as I reckoned with the reality that my current lifestyle offered no space for burnout prevention. And for that microscope on my work-life balance (or lack thereof), I am forever grateful.
Absolutely incredible. One of the best works I've ever read. And certainly going on my recs list for mental health reads, particularly for anyone who has ever struggled with depression or anxiety. Phenomenal read.
