As with every trip back to Hartwell, I knew I was going to be happy, and said, and angry and frustrated.
Samantha Young did not disappoint there.
One thing Samantha Young goes, and does well, is give us a tale that is not rushed and insta. Her stories are told over a number of years, and leave the reader yearning for the characters to find their HEA.
Jack and Emery's decade long tale left me, most of the time, wanting to throw my reader across the room. When I wasn't frustrated and p'd off at Jack, I was wanting to give Emery a clip around the ears for how she treated Jack. Neither of them are faultless in this story, and as annoying as it was at times, it made me love the story more.
I loved the people of Hartwell, and was wonderful to find out more of the couples from the previous books (not going to lie, I still need to read one of the earlier books).
My big thing with this story (and my big bug bear in any tale) is communication. Talk to each other people! I know it was the plot device for The Truest Thing, but gah! It gives me the irrits, no matter who or what the reason - rant over.
I adore Sam Young and would read the Chinese takeaway menu if she wrote it and put it in front of me. I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

I love a good enemies-to-lovers tale, and throw in twin shenanigans and I will be hooked.
There is so much snark between Hadley and Will - her best friend's twin. Misconceptions abound from Will, and as much as these frustrated me, I loved Hadley's clap backs at him. They say fighting is foreplay, and this pair burn up the pages with sexual tension. They drive each other - and this reader- crazy, but you just know they are going to burn up the sheets if they ever get their act together.
I feel for Hadley that she has to lie to her family, however loved how these things eventually made her family bonds stronger.
I laughed out loud at times, I wanted to throw my reader at Will's face, I just needed this pair to sort themselves out.
Oh, and I will say I want - no, I need Web's story. I feel some revenge coming his way!

Audio/ebook review
Why did I take so long to read this book?
I knew, being that it is an N.R Walker book that I was going to enjoy this book.
And I did. A lot more than I was expecting.
The narration was fantastic, particularly in bringing out Nathaniel's eccentricities. I just love him right from the start. I was driving my car when a scene about smiting and photocopiers came on and I was laughing so hard I nearly had to pull over.
There are also some brilliant thoughts on what heaven and those that are running it are like that made me giggle too.
I think this needs to become a series, not a stand alone.
Give me more, Ms Walker

Kick has been sitting on my bookshelf for years. Literally years.
Why did I wait to read it?
Dark and gritty, it is the kind of book that if it was a tv show you would be watching through yiur fingers, scared to watch.
There are no holds barred with Kick's story. It is not a light fluffy bikers-are-nice book so don't go in expecting that.

I have not read the previous books in the Sarah Blair Mystery series, however I an right into cozy mysteries at the moment, so it didn't affect my reading or enjoyment of book 3.
Besides Sarah, there are a lot, and i mean a lot of characters to get your hear around. Probably a few too many. However this may be because I have not read the previous books.
I liked that I was kept thinking, kept wondering about whodunnit - I quite often pick it early, however I didn't get this one until all was revealed.
I like our leading lady Sarah and her fur kiddos. I liked the relationships that developed through the story. And I like that I have a couple of books to go back and read.
I hope there are more Sarah Blair Mysteries in the future.

If you have read my reviews, you will know that I have had my issues with the past couple of Melissa Foster books I have read. I won't lie, I was on the verge of probably giving up on reading them for a while.
However, with Tempted By Love, we are back to the Melissa Foster stories that I adore.
We have met Jack "Jock" Steele in earlier books (as you know, all her series interweave) however if you have not met him before, you won't feel lost.
The problem I have had with recent MF books is that to me, there was a lot filler. The characters got their sh!t together and then cruised for a big percentage of the book.
I won't lie, I did feel that this was the way that Tempted By Love was going to go, however I was happy to say that this was not the case. Yes, Jock and Daphne do have their baggage, particularly Jock, but they did not just cruise until this became a big issue. They dealt with things in real time, no matter how difficult they were. And I liked the way things were done.
I loved seeing more of the characters we have grown to love over the years - thank you for the family tree at the beginning of the book Ms Foster, as I always feel a little lost with everyone!
There is a 3 year old scene stealer who will also steal your heart. If you don't love Hadley, then you don't have feelings, I swear!
Thank you too Ms Foster for bringing back my love of your stories.

I feel like it has been forever since we have had a BJ Harvey story hit our kindles. I know it hasn't been that long - but then again 2020 has been about eleventy-three years long already.
We have briefly met Marco Rossi in the Cook brothers books, but it is fine if you dive right into this new spin off series.
After reading a few darker, more angsty books lately, Show Stopper was just what I needed this week.
I freaking LOVE Marco Rossi. I need one of my own. I love his persistence. I love his heart. Gah, go away Renee, I am going to jump into my Kindle and steal him from you.
Renee is a real firecracker. She is wary of men like Marco, and it brings out
I just couldn't wait to turn each page and find out where their story went next.
It was great seeing bits and pieces of Marco's sister Skye from the previous series, and I have adored getting to know a little of the rest of the Rossi clan. There are great secondary characters that I cannot wait to see get their HEA.
Please do not make me wait too long, Ms Harvey

You could have heard me squee if you were on Mars when I found an early copy of Heart Bones sitting on my Kindle.
Colleen Hoover is an author who has never, ever let me down with her books. It has been a while since I read one of her boosks (I know, I know, you don't have to tell me), but what a book to come back to the fold with.
This book starts off with terrible events, and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time I was reading. I just know that at some time (if not the entire time I am reading) that I am going to have my heart ripped out.
Beyah and Samson's tale had me on the edge the whole time. We know Beyah's story, but there is something Samson is not revealing to us, and as much as you might think you know what is going on, I bet you you don't.
And I need to know what it is.
The last 25% of Heart Bones really ramps things up. This last part was very emotional. I could feel myself tearing up as events unfolded. I knew it was coming, it always is with a CoHo.
Well played Ms Hoover. Well played.
Buy this book and devour it, you won't be disappointed.
