I am in a quandry about how to write this review. There were so many things that I liked about Cake A Diem, however there were things that drew me out of the story, or that I had to read a couple of times to make sense of them.
I liked Zoe and Jake - though Zoe at times did get on my nerves - but this is probably a me problem.
I loved their insta-spark and their banter together, and you can't help but smile at times.
Now, I am not sure if this is because this was an ARC copy, and it had not gone through a final round of edits, however I found a lot of cliche sayings that were wrong, there were sentence structures that were all over the place and made it clunky to read.
There were also lots of times where punctuation was in the wrong place, making the flow of the sentence stilted.
Again, since this was an ARC and I have been advised that this was going through another round of edits, these issues may have already been fixed prior to the final copy being released.
This book has promise, and I am sure others won't have the issues I had with it
Again, as an ARC, I did not let these affect my rating of this book.

"The greatest things are worth the wait"
Sigh... this novella was everything I never knew I needed.
And I didn't know how much I missed Jude and Claire until I read it either.
I like the way that Ms Aleo tackles the hard subjects, and has me coming out loving the characters more than I thought I could.
This was a lovely look back at Jude and Claire as a couple. the struggles with hockey players being traded and the hardships it can put on relationships.
This pair are a force of nature, and nothing can keep them down. Their love for each other bounds off the pages.
It has made me want to go back and read Boarded by Love all over again.
I cannot get enough of Ms Aleo's hockey stories, and now I am impatient for more.

Now, I have had book friends telling me forever that I need to read Julia London books. Yeah, I reply, I will get there one day.
Now after reading The Princess Plan, I am kicking myself for taking so long to start!
The blurb of The Princess Plan drew me right in. I am a bit of a sucker for historical romances at the moment
This book had a bit of a Darcy/Elizabeth, Austenesque vibe - with a bit of a murder/mystery thrown in for good measure.
Yes, all believability is thrown out the window, but that is what we read fiction for, right?
I liked that even though Eliza had been hard done by, she wasn't a whimpering, whiney woman about it. She knew where she stood, and ran with it. I adored her sister and and their friends Caro and Poppy.
I am now headed off to Amazon to see what else to read.

Ahh, another fun and intriuging romp through one of Zara Keane's deadly towns - I swear, her towns are like Midsomer - where every visit could end up with a murder!!
It did take me a little while to get into Deadline With Death, however once I got my head around who was who, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I liked the kinda supernatural happenings around Dunleagh. Dee, her coworkers and her family (oy, her nan reminded me of Grandma Mazur in the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich).
Murder, mystery and mayhem abound as bodies are turning up all over town!
I really like Dee. I like how she deals with her (at times, not the best) family, her colleagues and the hodge podge of people around town.
With the way this story ended (not a cliffhanger!), I am looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

So, this old bird rarely reads YA these days (I am soooo far away from their ages that it is often hard for me to connect with the characters), however the minute that Jay McLean announces she is releasing a new book, I am counting down the seconds until it arrives on my Kindle.
This book has it all in the title - it is full of heartache and hope. You can't help but fall in love with Ava and Connor and all the complexities of their lives
Gah, there is so much I want to tell you about this book, however I can't as you need to devour this one and all it's emotions, going in blind to get the full effect.
I have had a run of meh and good books lately, and it was great to get into a story that just just had that extra "wow" factor.
I mean, being a duet, we know there is gonna be a cliffy of some sort, and as soon as I finished reading, I was looking at my Kindle for the second part of the duet.
I know it is only a couple of weeks away, but if Ms McLean could see fit to release it earlier, I won't complain. ThxnOK

I am slowly, very slowly getting through my NR Walker backlog.
Now, I did like Isaac and Carter's story, I did have a couple of issues with it - mainly the way at times it was treated like Isaac was dumb or a child because he was blind - no bueno for me. But this might not ping anyone elses radar
I loved these guys, I got frusrated with these guys, I wanted to scream and shout at these guy, and at times I hated these guys. But I couldn't stop listening to these guys.
And, any book that has animal in it is a big bonus for me.
Now to move on to the next book.

I read this book back in the days when it was titled A Beautiful Forever, and it was great to get back to to Paige and Elliot's story.
If you have read Struggle, you will remember our leading man Elliot. Well, now it is time for him to get his HEA.
I won't lie, our leading lady Paige did frustrate the heck out of me, even though I could understand some of the reasons why she did the things she did, I still wanted to yell at her through my Kindle.
Now, I had my issues with Elliot in Struggle - I know a lot of others didn't have a problem with him, so this is just my thing - however in this book things are all good!
It did drag a little at the beginning, and did nothing to kill the view that all Australians do is drink and get drunk (again this is probably just my issue) but it got better and Elliot and Paige moved along with their relationship.
I wanted them both to find their way to their happy ever after.
Keep reading at the end for the backstory of Paige - you won't be disappointed.
I am looking forward to the rerelease of the next book in the Beautiful series.

It was great to get back to Monroe, and OMG - Austin's story!
I adored what I knew of Austin in All That I Am, but oh my swoon! I fell hook, line and sinker for him in My Only Reason.
Marnie and Austin's story is a beautiful, frustrating and at times heartbreaking second chance at love. What I really liked about this story is that our lovelies didn't just fall back into bed together, it was more of a slow motion montage!
I was completely drawn into this book from the minute I opened my Kindle. I love love love the friendships in this series - both old and new - and I have to admit that it did make me miss my besty since we are hours away from each other. I want in on Wine Time Wednesdays I tell you!
Also, I need to know Ms Brookes - how can I get in on Gigi's cake rotation.
I laughed, I got sad, I got frustrated, but most of all I loved My Only Reason.
Now I can't wait for the next in the series
