Wow, can you believe that we are up to #10 already in the Nicki Sosobee series?
We follow on where the last book finished up, so you will need to have read the previous books before Lies.
I would like to think that Nicki and I would be great friends in real life. She is ballsy, she is smart - but she is also smarting from the demise of her relationship with Sean.
But nothing can keep a good woman down, and even with all the crap that is going on in her life, she is still up-and-at-'em, still trying to sniff out what the deal is with Cecil Montgomery. Still trying to move on in life, even when at times it seems determined to keep holding her back.
Enter Hunter Landry - sexy as sin tattoo artist. I really liked Hunter at first, but as the story progressed.....
As events occur in Lies, Nicki comes out the other side with what may seem like more vulnerability, but is really more strength to her. Lies took a turn that I was not expecting, but that is all the more reason to love the Nicki series, and Ms Jamison as an author.
Although with that ending, Ms Jamison certainly left me wanting more.
Can't wait to see where the adventures of Nicki Sosobee take us next.

I couldn't put this book down once I stayed it and has had wondering why I haven't read it before.
Can't wait for more collaborations between these two authors

Sloan J0hnson has done it again with Never Too Late.
I am a huge fan of m/m romance, and while I am not usually such a big fan of "gay for you", this really didn't bother me with Never Too Late- that's how much I loved it.
Dax and Michael feel that connection the first time they meet. Little do they know that all is not as it seems with them.
From the start I adored Dax and Michael. You could feel the attraction between them, but still knew there was more.
There was a connection between them that at first they could not understand, but as the story unfolds and histories are revealed, that connection becomes so much more.
This is the story of two men trying to reinvent their lives, start from scratch, make better lives for themselves and their families.
The absolute scene stealer in this book is Michael's boy Jagger. He is whole and pure and straight up as only a small child can be.
There are some great secondary characters, particular Justin and Matt, who call our lovelies on their BS. Plus there is a great set up for the next book throughout this story.
Never Too Late pulled at my heart strings, and left me wanting more.
Please don't make me wait too for more Miss Johnson!

This third installment of the Cedar Ridge series is the one I have been waiting for!
Jacob Kincaid, the prodigal son, has returned!
After leaving town at 18, Jacob is coming home, and has a lot of amends to make. And lots of healing to do on the inside.
Enter Sophie, the sexy red head. Broken in other ways, she piques Jacob's interest in ways that nobody has in a long time.
Can they be the ones to heal each other?
OMG the sparks between these lovelies are immediate. The banter, the innuendos, the way they poke at each other - it's all just extended foreplay! And when they get to the sexy times - holy hotness Batman!
I loved that it wasn't all drawn out to get the lovers together either.
There was one particular character that I just wanted to nut-punch (you will know who it is when you get reading)
I loved that we got more of the rest of the Kincaid family. Loved seeing where they were all at relationship wise, the trials and tribulations of working with family.
But man oh man, do I need Kenna's story - now would be good Ms Shalvis!
Nobody But You, as with all the other Jill Shalvis books that I have read, is a sweet, sexy romance. You know what you are going to get when you crack open a Shalvis, and like always this left me with a smile on my face.
I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

Another hockey-hottie? Sign me up!
Hawke is a new addition to the Cold Fury family, but not unknown to some of the players.
Hawke is all blue eyed, bearded goodness (I am not particularly a fan of the beard, but something about Hawke does it for me!!)
Vale is the love he lost many years ago. Now fate has them working together at Cold Fury - and things are starting to hot up!
But we know that things are never going to be easy between them. All that history has lead to so much more. Secrets and lies are never a good thing - and this pair have their fair share!
I loved the push/pull between them. For every feeling of love there is a feeling of hate. I just wanted to bang their heads together, tell them to snap out of it and to talk! I want them to be together, I want them to recapture their past, I want them to move forward and be happy.
But you know that it not what Ms Bennett has in store for us until the time is just right!
I loved that we got a peek into the lives of Alex, Garrett, Zack and Ryker again - and now am impatiently waiting for Max's story.
Although this was not my favourite of the Cold Fury series, it is a great book that I couldn't put down once I started!

OK, I am not going to lie. As I started reading this, I had no idea what was happening. Were they strangers? Were they a married couple trying to spice things up a little?
But I instantly liked Gabe and Elena. Gabe was like a little boy in a big man's body. The hurts from the past are still affecting him. Elena could be just the perfect person for him.
Baring their souls to each other is the best form of therapy, allowing each of them to start to move forward - but are they moving on together or alone.
The little scene stealer in this quick read is Simon. He was just too adorable for words!
It is hard with such a short story to no have things feel rushed. But that was not an issue at all with The Heart Of It. Although I would like to know more about Elena, Gabe and Simon.
Maybe, Ms O'Keefe, we could get more in the future?

Episode four: Brooke
How would you feel if your first love, your only love returned after years away and no contact?
This is Brooke's dilemma when Heath returns to Milpinyani Springs. After years of no contact and her brothers keeping guys away from here, not surprisingly she's pissed when he returns and wants to start up where they left things.
I got so angry for Brooke
Can't wait for the next episode.

Gah, it has taken me forever to finish this book. This is nothing to do with the book, the blame lies solely with me and time!
Paige Toon is a new to me author, but I will be looking at more in the future.
The Sun In Her Eyes was a beautiul, poignant read.
Amber returns to Adelaide after her father becomes ill. And there things seem to fall apart for her. Her marriage has been struggling, she is now back in the same town with her first love. She is confused and unsure of what she wants.
It is always easy to look back on your first love with rose coloured glasses, and Ethan seems all that, and just confuses the matter even more.
I was not particularly a fan of Ethan right from the get go, but as things progressed (and boy, did they progress) there was just something about him that just made me not like him, no matter how wonderful he seemed.
Poor Amber went through so much during her visit, and my heart cracked for her at times - it didn't break, because I just knew that she was stronger than that.
But for her hubby Ned, may have been a bit different.
I guess that saying you don't know what you got till it's gone (or halfway around the world) really was true for Amber and Ned.
I just hoped that Amber would make the right decision.
I really did enjoy The Sun In Her Eyes (even with the stilted, interrupted reading), and I would love to know more about these characters, and the secondary characters in the future.
I look forward to reading more of Ms Toon's work

It has been a while since I read a Savannah Stewart book, and Graceful Ashes was a great book to get back to her with.
You know that saying "if you love someone set them free, if they come back it was meant to be."
That could pretty much be Zoey and Hendrix's story.
Zoey has been quite sheltered, and her life revolves around dance.
Hendrix is the bad boy, surrounded by darkness that piques her interest and turns her world upside down.
Their story is definitely not all hearts and flowers.
While I was cheering for Zoey for finally stepping out of her comfort zone, for finding new friends and tackling new experiences, I just wanted to slap some sense into her. She fell so far down the rabbit hole I had to wonder if she would ever come back.
Decisions made by both Zoey and Hendrix, while at times questionable, were also understandable. Such hurt in their pasts was always going to affect them, and it was a journey to find out if/how they would come through the other side.
While at times my heart broke for our lovelies, it was also filled with hope that they would find what they needed to move forward.
Ms Stewart drew me into the whirlwind that was Zoey and Hendrix's life and I just couldn't stop reading until I knew what happened. The story flowed well, I was invested in the characters, and just had to know what happened next.
I look forward to seeing what Ms Stewart brings us next.

I have enjoyed all the books in this series so far, and Steel was not exception.
Two people finding their way to each other in unusual circumstances - yep, that calls right to me!
The last thing Josh "Steel" Caplin expected when he wakes up in hospital after being left for dead is Dr Holly Walsh.
Josh might be physically broken, but Holly is emotionally broken. She sees so much more in Josh than he sees in himself - to himself, he is nothing without cage fighting. She can see the man beneath all that, and no matter how much she fights it, she wants him.
I just wanted them to make a go of it, and to be happy. But can what they feel for each other really be enough.
There is a bit if a mystery that brings Charlie from previous books back into the fray. And what she is all there for - well, I wasn't expecting what we found!
Steel is a beautiful story of finding that one person, the one who repairs you. body and soul, the one who sees though all your BS. The one who will fight for you no matter what, and will slay yor demons.
I enjoyed getting to see glimpses of characters from former books, and I can't wait to see what Ms Cross brings us next.
