Graceful Ashes
by Savannah Stewart
ARC received for an honest review
It has been a while since I read a Savannah Stewart book, and Graceful Ashes was a great book to get back to her with.
You know that saying "if you love someone set them free, if they come back it was meant to be."
That could pretty much be Zoey and Hendrix's story.
Zoey has been quite sheltered, and her life revolves around dance.
Hendrix is the bad boy, surrounded by darkness that piques her interest and turns her world upside down.
Their story is definitely not all hearts and flowers.
While I was cheering for Zoey for finally stepping out of her comfort zone, for finding new friends and tackling new experiences, I just wanted to slap some sense into her. She fell so far down the rabbit hole I had to wonder if she would ever come back.
Decisions made by both Zoey and Hendrix, while at times questionable, were also understandable. Such hurt in their pasts was always going to affect them, and it was a journey to find out if/how they would come through the other side.
While at times my heart broke for our lovelies, it was also filled with hope that they would find what they needed to move forward.
Ms Stewart drew me into the whirlwind that was Zoey and Hendrix's life and I just couldn't stop reading until I knew what happened. The story flowed well, I was invested in the characters, and just had to know what happened next.
I look forward to seeing what Ms Stewart brings us next.
