The real puzzle is figuring out how people are finishing this and loving it.

Every character sucked and I loved it 

Sadly I DNFd this one, but would still recommend it. I went in expecting a creepy, well set thriller and as just met with a ton of dialogue and nothing happening. 

I'll still read from this author though.

If you know me, you know I love Susan's Maggie Hope series and if you've gotten to her most recent release there, you'd see that this similar to what Maggie finds herself in, minus our favorite British characters. 

I had no idea that there was an American Nazi presence in LA during WWII and I admire the research that Susan did here to share the story of real women who went under as spies. 

I did find this a bit clunkier and more repetitive than her writing in the Maggie Hope series, so I'm rating this a 4.5 but rounded up here. 

There’s no way I’d make the cut to go to Planet X, but I’ll follow you there 🫡

Sadly I’m DNFing this one. I didn’t realize this was going to be a coming of age novel with a lot of characters going off on side tangents. I can’t keep any character straight and that means they’re not memorable.
