Thank you to the publisher and LibroFM for the alc, but I will be DNFing.
The narration for this just isn’t working for me. They had the perfect opportunity to use a narrator with a Midwest accent and gave us nothing?
The plot is also stagnant and there is nothing to keep me interested.

I read 106 pages and that was about 80 too many.
Thanks to the publisher for the finished copy, but this one isn’t for me.
I tried it physically and the writing wasn’t working for me so I put a hold in Libby for the audio.
The audiobook absolutely didn’t work for me. The audio quality is poor as you can hear the narrator breathing and there are awkward pauses at page turns.
This turned out to be much more sociological than historical and scientific then I thought it’s would be. The sociology surrounding pandemics are important, but the way the information was shared didn’t work.

Sorry to say I don’t care about any of these characters and nothing has grabbed my attention to keep going
I’m not a prude by any means, but listening to someone describe how they masturbate is apparently the line I’m stopping at.
I started this on March 2 and on March 31, I’m still only on page 68.
I went in with low expectations after being disappointed in Iron Flame and somehow this was worse than I thought it would be.

The main issue for me is that the writing just wasn’t working for me. The over explaining of trivial things made zero sense.
“I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket. I took it out and my phone was lit up”
Yes, because that’s what happens when your phone vibrates???

I don’t think I’ve ever felt so much secondhand embarrassment for a main character in a book
