Crossing The Line was a brilliant thriller and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Meghan Rogers did an amazing job on this debut, and I can't wait to read the sequel next year. :D

** actually 2.5
DNF'd a little over halfway through. I had no motivation to finish this, even though the concept was interesting. Everything else was just average. Unfortunately, Holly Black's books just aren't for me. :|

* Actually 4.75 stars
This was a wonderfully written, magical story, and I really enjoyed it. The characters were real, flawed, but so great. The ending was heartbreaking, though I predicted it shortly before. It was the perfect way to end the book. :)

A quick but captivating and somewhat dark read. It was a brilliant book, considering it was written by an 18-year-old guy. :D

Technically I won't finish this until tomorrow, as my class is only on Act V Scene iii, but I'm reviewing it now. My opinion won't change in the final scene. I knew how it went before starting it (who doesn't?) and didn't care much about the details I learned. Honestly, I think reading this was unnecessary. I much rather would've watched "Gnomeo and Juliet," or even the Leonardo DiCaprio adaptation of the play. It would've gotten the point across just as easily.
Main issues I had:
• Juliet is crazy.
• The Capulets are terrible parents.
• Romeo and Paris are both creepers.
• It can be summed up in 5 words: family feud, forbidden romance, death.

I read this sometime last summer, I think, and just remembered to actually mark it as read. I'm not sure of my detailed opinion, but I remember being mostly indifferent to it; not blown away, but not bored either. ;)

* Actual rating is 1.5 stars. *
* I received an early copy at BookCon. This in no way affects my opinion. *
DNF on page 123. I tried to get to at least the halfway point, but I couldn't get attached to the characters or story, and the inappropriate jokes/moments made me uncomfortable. :(
However, I did enjoy the relationship Maddie had with her grandma.

Yet another absolutely brilliant book from Rick Riordan. He's woven together an exciting, intriguing new story, but still intertwined elements of his original Greek & Roman series so that returning fans will be happy. I certainly was. Apollo was a hilarious narrator, and his attitude toward mortals and being one himself was definitely amusing. The big twist around chapter 26-28 totally caught me off guard and messed with my feels. My only *very minor* complaint is that old characters didn't get enough page time. I understand that the new story is about Apollo, not them, and I'm happy to have been reunited with Percy and a small handful of others... but my hopes in that area had been high, and they weren't met. It's not enough for me to lower my rating, though, because this book was epic regardless, and book 2 can't come quick enough. :D
