Yet another absolutely brilliant book from Rick Riordan. He's woven together an exciting, intriguing new story, but still intertwined elements of his original Greek & Roman series so that returning fans will be happy. I certainly was. Apollo was a hilarious narrator, and his attitude toward mortals and being one himself was definitely amusing. The big twist around chapter 26-28 totally caught me off guard and messed with my feels. My only *very minor* complaint is that old characters didn't get enough page time. I understand that the new story is about Apollo, not them, and I'm happy to have been reunited with Percy and a small handful of others... but my hopes in that area had been high, and they weren't met. It's not enough for me to lower my rating, though, because this book was epic regardless, and book 2 can't come quick enough. :D
