I really did not like this book. I don't like Olivia, and the stroy is not very realistic in several ways. How the characters act is little stereotype in my head, and I don't think people will act like that in the real world. Oh, talked about the real world: the making of an article in a magazine is WAY different in real life than is suggested in this book.

It is a very special and unique story, but it could have been better written (I admid I read the Dutch translation..). The story did not let me forget the world around me, but it does fascinates me. I'm going to read the second book as well.

It was a nice read. Sometimes there were a lot of pages when nothing really happens and it was a bit boring to only read thoughts and conversations, but when something happens, oh boy it is good stuff. Looking forwards to reading the rest of the series, happy to continued in this book thanks zo my group with the readathon challenge!

OK so first of all: I've seen the movie a couple of years ago and I was completely in love with it. One of my favorite movies of all time. You can imagine my happiness when I found out the movie was originally a book! I bought it and I saved it for a special occasion to read. Most of the time, books are better than the movies.

This book I read in two readinggroups hehe! The one I have toghether with my mom, and with my group on Goodreads. It all came perfectly together!

I often read in English and it's not a problem for me. But this book was different. I still understood everything, but I read a lot slower than usual. That's why it toook so much time for me to finish this book.

Well, that's not the only reason it took me so long. I already knew the story (I do remember one of my favorite movies!), so I kindda knew what was coming. And it took soooooooo long for the story to arrive, and than it was finished so quickly. So: I don't like the ratio between the different statuses in the book. You will know what I mean when you've read it.

What I do like about the book is the writing idea: one day of every year. Especially because in the beginning of the book, this is very well executed. You read about the 15 july of that year in a way as if you've just read about the 14th and will read about the 16th next. But you don't. It makes you wonder about what happened, it makes you puzzle. I like that. Later on in the book, there is more telling and remembering. It is good for the storyline, but sometimes it felt as an easy way out, while it wasn;t necessary everywhere.

To conclude: i expected a lot of this book, 5 stars. But it disappointed me. I do like the day-telling, and the story it very lovely of course. But I have to admit: if I didn't knew how the sotry would develop, I don;t know if I would have finished this book..

So I finished this book late last night. It was a nice read and I like the idea of the story a lot, but I was nog wowed by it, hence the 3/5*. But I am gonna finish the series because I like the storyidea and the book is not bad or anything. For example, I really liked the storyidea of Splintered as well, bit that was written so poorly, I abandoned it. Fortunately, not the case with this book!

4,5* actually. I so had the intention to never give half stars but here I am. I really loved this collection of short stories (hello 2105 reading challenge!) because you get to know different caracters better. This enriches the whole series from an level of quite nice to good and complex. Aimee must have made a study from the original myths and Gods to be able to write these stories. That I like about them is that they are intertwined with everything that has happened so far, they explain sooooo much. I'm really exited to read the last part of the series with all of this knowlegde from the characters.

Ok dus ik heb 'm even uitgelezen.
