Volumes 1 and 2 were a delight, however Volume 3 felt all over the place. For the most part it was exceptionally slow and uninteresting - aside from of course. The marriages at the end felt quite slapdash, and while I wholeheartedly agree with all of the pairings Austen made, would have liked to see more actual courtship between them.

*4.5
James' prose can be cumbersome at times, but I absolutely loved this novella. Completely ambiguous and left to the reader this is either a story about an old manor plagued by ghosts, or that of a young woman's descent into madness. This is a perfect October read, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

If I binged all 73 currently released chapters today.... that's my business.
Highly recommend though, this is an incredibly cute story with great LGBTQ+ rep! I will definitely be keeping up as it continues to release! You can read it on Webtoon here!

This is my second time reading Northanger Abbey, though I confess it suffered a low rating the first time around simply because I did not understand half of the satire that was occurring. This time around though, it was positively delightful. Northanger Abbey is so witty and thoroughly enjoyable that it definitely takes a definitive place within my top 3 Austen novels. While Catherine may be an unlikely heroine, to me she is entirely lovable and I have no choice but to root for her the entire time.
closer to a 4.5 i think
i've realized there's a different type of warmth in my heart that's reserved for seeing well written bisexual characters happy, supported, and in love. this book was escapist fluff from start to finish, and honestly i wouldn't have it any other way. i'm not ashamed to admit that i cried multiple times reading this (particularly when alex came out thanks to my own personal trauma) and it honestly filled a little hole in my heart.
the book isn't perfect. i mean i'm an american and i can tell you that this didn't feel like a realistic portrayal of british royals. (but also thats ok if i wanted something true to real life i wouldn't be reading fiction). some characters also felt extremely tropey at times but that was also easily overlooked for me as i got wrapped up in alex and henry's romance.
overall, really loved this book...
anyways who wants to write letters full of homosexual pining with me now?

really helpful - highly recommend this to any witches looking to dive into espiritsmo in their practice.
its also really good at combining aspects of all religions which is important when looking back upon our ancestors and what they believed. i will be referencing this again.

Of the Jane Austen novels I've read, this is by far the worst.
Fanny Price is nothing but a lovable main character ... it's all the others that made me want to pull my hair out. Plus the book drags SO bad. Glad to say I've read it... can't see my self rereading it in the future at any time

The deep seated pain that this brought me.... I don’t think I’ll ever recover
