Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
4.0

closer to a 4.5 i think

i've realized there's a different type of warmth in my heart that's reserved for seeing well written bisexual characters happy, supported, and in love. this book was escapist fluff from start to finish, and honestly i wouldn't have it any other way. i'm not ashamed to admit that i cried multiple times reading this (particularly when alex came out thanks to my own personal trauma) and it honestly filled a little hole in my heart.

the book isn't perfect. i mean i'm an american and i can tell you that this didn't feel like a realistic portrayal of british royals. (but also thats ok if i wanted something true to real life i wouldn't be reading fiction). some characters also felt extremely tropey at times but that was also easily overlooked for me as i got wrapped up in alex and henry's romance.

overall, really loved this book...

anyways who wants to write letters full of homosexual pining with me now?
