This was SO intense and exactly what I mean when I say I want a thriller that hooks me right from the start and never lets up. It’s dual timelines, one in present day as Cora searches for her daughter and another in the past when she was kidnapped as a young teenager. Who knew gymnastics and tense thrillers went so well together but when I tell you this combo had me in a chokehold, it was insane. It was very fast paced, one of those head spinning type of reads and even if things were over the top and I had to suspend disbelief I didn’t care, I was hooked! This was unhinged and so addictive and was almost a five star read for me but I guessed a big twist so I’m knocking a half star off. Still definitely worth a read, especially if you want a one sitting thrill ride.
This was such a perfect way to end a seriously intense and emotional trilogy, we finally got to see Lettie and Tomer have some calm and happy moments and it was so special. After the trauma and turmoil they both faced in the first two books it was so nice to see them just be in love. Their love story was beautiful and so so hard fought and this one actually cracked my cold, black heart open and made me cry. It was the epilogue, my god that was sooo 😭🥹😭 The narrators are phenomenal and you can tell they gave their heart and soul to this performance so the audio is a must!
Harmony is a single mom trying to start a new life with her son, Wyatt and I simply adored her. She is so fierce and determined and as a mom she is a protector and mama bear to a tee. She always puts everyone else before herself and her own needs so it was truly special to see her find some happiness and have someone take care of her for once. Brady also learns to open up again and his relationship with Wyatt was so sweet. This one was just as angsty as the first book, the drama is major so it makes that HEA even more sweet, but man the pain 😭 If you like emotional romance with a beautiful ending this was excellent!
There was a lot I liked about this one, it was fast paced and exciting and the tension kept mounting throughout the book. It’s also fairly short so between that and the pacing I flew through this. It flips between past and present with short chapters that kept me turning the pages and I was always desperate to get back to whatever timeline I wasn’t currently reading because most ended on a mini cliffhanger. It was also a bit outlandish and ridiculous with truly unlikable characters but I don’t always mind reading about awful people. If you don’t mind some silly plot points and terrible characters but do enjoy heart pounding and intense action try this.
When I saw this was a coming of age story set in NYC in the 80’s that’s all I needed to know, that combination just sounded so appealing to me and it was! It follows Nina the summer before she leaves for college and the author really captured that new adult feeling and all the anxieties and immaturities that are a part of that period in one’s life. Nina is a mess but a relatable one, she’s insecure and awkward and just trying to find her place in a world that is not kind to women and especially to Jewish women. Her home life is fragile too, her mother struggles with mental illness and she’s always walking on eggshells. The author covered so many topics from mental health and addiction to womanhood and privilege this was thought provoking and would make a wonderful book club choice. Next time you’re in the mood for a literary style coming of age story try this, I found it compelling and well written.
The Queen of romantic suspense is back with a standalone that I hope turns into a series because I loved these characters and their town! Ridley is a true crime podcaster and her driving force is the disappearance of her twin sister so there’s a deep emotional connection for her and you can feel that energy throughout the book. Colt is the grumpy yet soft and squishy inside sheriff in Shady Cove and while these two have a rough start when they first meet, they actually have so much in common and they heal each other in a beautiful way. The author always surprises me with her twists but this one was next level and shocked me so well! If you like true crime, suspense, enemies to lovers, small town and grump and sunshine this was excellent
If you like to read seasonally and don’t mind another thriller about an alcoholic woman with memory issues this was pretty fun. I loved the locked room style setting at a motel during a snowstorm, especially as Kerry is caretaking and she’s the only one staying there. The creepy vibes were definitely apparent and it doesn’t take long to get to the action either. The main question of whodunnit was fairly easy for me to predict BUT there were several smaller twists along the way that I didn’t catch. I know I can count on the author when I want a fast paced and binge worthy thriller and she delivered for me once again!
It’s always a little bittersweet for me when the author begins a new series, she’s one of my favorites and it makes me sad to say goodbye to her characters and the world she created. Luckily she does this super fun and amazing thing where she has a smooth transition between series so you still get to catch up with past characters, I just adore it! Anyway, all of that to say this is book one in a new series and sometimes it takes me a bit to settle into a new world but I’m so happy to say I dove into this one super easily and am already head over heels in love with Rosewood River and its residents. Easton was such a grumpy guy but there are *reasons* and when they were revealed I melted. Henley was just the type of heroine I like, she’s kind, funny and relatable and though they start their relationship off on the wrong foot it’s easy to see they’re meant to be. Besides enemies to lovers this also has workplace romance, small town and bosses daughter. It was such a strong start to the series and I’m SO excited about the next book and the possibilities that lay ahead.
This was a twisty little treat and seriously fantastic on audio! There are so many talented narrators performing these roles and I’m so glad I listed to this one versus reading a print copy. It was a little over the top and silly in some of the explanations but I had a blast with it and can definitely recommend it as a popcorn thriller.
Nothing tops a cowboy romance for me and this one was so good y’all! When I’m in the mood for a super steamy Southern romance I know the author will always deliver and this was no exception. Wyatt and Sally have a deep history, years of friendship and bonding, so their foundation for a romance was so strong. Their transition from friends to lovers was seamless and written in the stars, I just adored these two separately, but together they were everything. This was emotional, sexy, flirty, funny and charming I’m obsessed with Lucky River Ranch and cannot wait to be back in this world again.
