3.75-4/5 for me, there’s still a few elements I’m pondering. The quick pace worked well for this, though I feel like

Hannah’s connection to the project

could’ve been played out more. I thought it would be more Horror™️ than mystery, to the point that the blurb feels mildly misleading. Not quite sure what to think of that ending, but it was a good way to kill an hour.

Overall, it’s a fun read. Something you could classify as Brain Candy, y’know? I thought that the characters were enjoyable and the plot’s intriguing enough that I’ll keep an eye out for the next one.

However, this did need a second round of editing (a few punctuation mistakes, a wrong your, and an unfinished sentence) and I wish the explanation of “what’s up” happened earlier in the book. The story also gets a little bogged down with RPG Character Technical Details in a few places, but that’s fairly infrequent.

Would’ve given it a 4.5 but I HATE the ‘no quotation marks’ stylistic choice. 

The characters made flawed and realistic decisions, which I found enjoyable, and while the themes in this book are heavy, it flows well and I can’t come up with something better than “it may not be an easy read but it was easy to read”
