As a true crime fan, this one hit all the marks. I loved the investigation aspects from the sleuths, how they get wrapped up into the story they’re investigating, and that twist!! I couldn’t put this one down.

Leslie Howard was phenomenal. She really kept me invested.

I will never not buy a Kennedy Ryan book. She manages to make spicy books with so emotion it should be a sin. 
This third (and final??) installment of the Skyland series held the best for last. Although BILG will always hold a special place in my heart as my first Kennedy Ryan, and a beautiful love story, CGE brought home the gold. Hendrix’ story was emotional and vulnerable with Hendrix being a total badass as well and— the spicy moments are spicing!

This was a very difficult read. The grooming that occurred was hard to read about, but I think Odell did a wonderful job explaining what happened. Not being a horse person, I was interested in that aspect but I did have some difficulty with the therapy talk. But that’s a me thing. If you’re interested in introspective memoirs, you’ll enjoy this.

The repetition is just too much.

I was 18 when the events at Tiananmen Square occurred. It was in my peripheral memory and I remember being curious about what was happening as I was a newly minted voter and wondered what would happen if things like that were to happen here. 35 years later and the current political climate is eerily similar. 

I enjoyed this book. It was dual narrative between a mother and daughter and the changing political situation in their home of Shanghai and later as an immigrant in Canada. This was not an easy read. It was heartbreaking but so informative, exactly what good historical fiction is about. This is the debut from Chang but I’ll be looking out for more from her.

Cosby never disappoints. This southern crime story hit all the punches. @realadamlw could read me the phone book. To hear him say ye-ahh over and again would make my day. 

Loved this book! Love these characters! I hope to see more of Mason and Mann in the future. So witty and smart.
