Thank you to Hambright PR for my gifted copy.
I thought this was going to be a cute hockey romance. Whoa was I not ready for the emotional roller coaster! It was hard to read at times but I feel the characters were authentic and well written.
4/5 stars

CAVE OF SECRETS
Lynne Golodner @lynnegolodner
Thank you to the author for sending me a #gifted copy. These are my thoughts.
Told in multiple perspectives and multiple storylines, this book weaves the past and present together beautifully. Eve is spending a year abroad in Scotland to become an archivist. On a hike it begins to rain and she stumbles upon a cave and ducks in to stay dry. Inside she finds a leather bound journal with a letter inside. Later she stops in the local pub to get warm and grab a bite to eat. That pub belongs to Mac. They meet and have an intense connection. Little do they know that the letter Eve has just found was written by his ancestor.
In other parts of the world Eve’s father is making a choice to stay where he’s been comfortable or move to be with the man he loves.
This was an intriguing story. I loved all the Scottish lore and language. Eve and Mac were both such strong characters and their love story is special. And… lass, do they like their whisky 😹
The only part I could’ve left out was the magical realism. It was a jarring moment and the story would’ve been complete without it.
Out today! Check it out.

Allll the stars!!! I loved this hybrid queer/fantasy/mystery so much. A week later and I’m still thinking about these phenomenal characters. Dee and Ravi’s story was endearing and touching. I’d also like a grasshopper to hop in and out of my life, thank you. This debut author has gained an auto buy fan!
Thank you to HTP & Mira for the digital copy and Tandem Collective for the hardback. I will treasure it always!

LOVE AND OTHER LOST THINGS
Melissa Wiesner
Out now!
Thank you @bookedwiththeemilys for including me on the tour and the #gifted copy.
Just WOW! This book hit every single emotion. Melissa has crafted a beautiful story wrapped in heartbreak. DV is not easy to read and I’m sure it’s not easy to write about. But, as a child where DV was in the home, I can attest that she nailed it. I don’t want to say much about the plot because there are several twists and you really need to go in blindly. But, it’s a must read. Highly recommend.

PLAYBOOK
The Holland Brothers #2
Rebecca Jenshak
This was such a fun, quick read! I love me some fake dating and when you throw in black cat/ golden retriever AND make it epistolary… SOLD.
Brogan was SUCH a love muffin. Yes, he’s a reformed playboy so that shows some, but boy is he head over heels for London. London is a grump but her reactions to Brogan’s mail had me cackling!
The side characters are amazing. I am sooooo excited for Archer’s story to come!
Thank you Valentine PR and Rebecca Jenshak for my review copy. These thoughts are my own.

YOUR PLAY TO CALL
Rachel LaBerge
Thank you Rachel LaBerge for the early review copy. These thoughts are my own.
If you know me, you know I’m a HUGE Swiftie. I so totally in love with Taylor and Travis’ love story it’s ridiculous. So, when I was offered the chance to read this Tayvis coded romance I said “Of course!”
I was not disappointed. In fact my cheek muscles still hurt today from smiling so damned much! This was the sweetest, emotional love story I’ve read in some time. The way Willow and Tripp connected (and talk about a meet adorbs) and felt so deeply, but were both also so true to who they were was refreshing. Usually at least one person’s personality gets sucked up by the other but these two were their own true selves. The third act break up was a gut punch but was believable.
This is the first in a series and I’m looking forward to Emilie and Zack’s story (and really interested in how that’s going to happen!)
