An improvement on the first.
Seven is a much more likeable main character/narrator than Four. Perhaps it's the Spanish Catholic upbringing or perhaps it's because she's not a teenage male.
Things are getting interesting. Even if some of the plot twists are obvious (Another number being rescued from the mountain, Sam being left behind).
The writing has improved since the first book.
Some of the characters have more depth. Four unfortunately doesn't.
Cliched love triangle. Barf.

Ok so I'm invested in the story now. I would give this four stars if I was more impressed with the writing style. Although I'm starting to think it's deliberate since it reads like a teenager wrote it yet it is from the p.o.v of teenagers. Maybe I should go ahead and give it four start? The story is hotting up. It still drags a little in the build up chapters and then the last 50 pages hits you like a sledgehammer! Ah!
