Actually really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, even if the author (who narrates the book himself) can’t pronounce Consett and Prudhoe properly. But then, we do say things weird up north.

I enjoyed his realness about the pros and cons, and pains of walking. The history he discusses are interesting. I really enjoyed his attitude to right to roam, less in a rebellious way and more in a stubborn “we should be allowed to!” way.

A must read for anyone interested in right to roam, walking, wild swimming, kayaking, nature, politics of land ownership, and of course, trespassing (on landed estates not in your neighbours garden).
So much food for thought. A book I’ll return to. A book that motivates you to get involved. Do something. Make it better.

A fascinating insight into the workings of farming in the last 40 odd years and where it all went wrong. A well deserved winner of the wainwright prize

This isn’t just a book about trespass. It’s a book about inequality in all aspects and should be read by everyone.

Misleading new edition of a 10+ year old book. Mistakes in text. Otherwise very Monty Don and enjoyable while informative.
