The information within the book was good but the format (starting at the present and going back in time) was disorienting and added nothing in terms of “telling a story”. Meanwhile the book was very fact filled and dry and the authors attempts at humour to lighten the text fell flat.
For fans of Mudlarking by Lara Maiklem.
