This is definitely my least favorite Freida book…
I didn’t find this one as thrilling as some of her other stories and I thought it really dragged in the middle. It just felt like nothing was actually happening and it was a lot of the same things over and over again.
We got our usual big twist at the end but it didn’t feel as thrilling as it usually does. There was that big “oh shit” moment like we usually get, it was much more subdued…
Hopefully her next one goes back to her usually writing style!

I think this was my first ever Viking book and I loved it! I love Norse mythology and it was cool to see some of the lesser known gods talked about in the book! The Vikings were not a peaceful people so it was fun reading about the battles in the book!
Overall I enjoyed the characters in this one. Bjorn was fantastic! The typical alpha male you would expect in this kind of story but it worked so well! I do have to say our FMC Freya drove me nuts for a solid portion of the book… she could be such a badass at times but I thought she was so self destructive and stubborn. She would be so confident and self assured and then a page later she would be doing the opposite of what she was just so confident about. I’m hoping we see a bit more character growth from her in book 2!
I’m really excited about the turn this book took at the end too! I thought it was a bit obvious it was going this route but I didn’t think there was anything wrong with that! I was so excited to see my theories coming true! Super curious to see where this story goes in the next book!

I really liked the premise of this one, it’s terrifying to think about because the things that happen in the book could actually happen in real life. The plot itself is incredibly good. What I didn’t love was the stream of consciousness method of storytelling. To me, it made it hard to follow at times and I kept having to go back and reread parts and the jumps from past to present could be confusing at times too.

This book was even more fun than the first book! I mean, pirates! There’s nothing more fun in a book than dashing pirates!
I had so much fun reading this one and I loved the new characters introduced throughout the story. They make you smile and enjoy every moment of the book from start to finish. I love the relationship that Reyna and Kianthe have and how unshakable they are.
I can’t wait to find out what’s next for these two!

I’m still sorting through my feelings with this book…
There was a lot about it that I liked. I loved the premise, I always enjoy war college stories and people with powers. I enjoyed the powers in this one as well, it made the story interesting.
For the most part I really like our main characters and side characters. They worked really well together and the chemistry was fantastic. But then our fierce FMC did something stupid towards the end that I just didn’t see her doing at all because it made no sense to me and that was a tad frustrating and definitely took away from the end of the story. I felt like the events that unfolded after were a tad forced as a result.
All in all it’s a solid story and I’m definitely curious to know what happens next!

This book was such a fun time! The banter was witty and smart, the characters were loveable with a dark side, and the story was engaging start to finish!
This story follows Effie Flite and her attempts to take down the man who stole the fortune and ruined her benefactor. But she doesn’t expect to meet a charming man with a darker side in one Gabriel Royce.
Set slightly post regency era, there was no spice in this one but it really worked for me. I loved reading about their budding relationship and all their endeavors throughout the book! I’ll definitely be checking out the next one when it comes out!

I really enjoyed this one start to finish!
The main characters were engaging and fun to read about and the side characters added enough of a splash to be memorable. I loved the mixed themes of a high stakes competition and a mystery woven together in a fantasy story. It was such a unique and fun read, waiting to see what the trials would be while also trying to unravel the mystery of Verity’s murder and the mystery of Lotte’s parentage.
I cannot wait for book 2 in this series to find out what happens next!

Absolutely loved this one!
I loved the high stakes competition and I loved that the author did shirk on the bloody/gory details of it! It made it all the more exciting to read about it!
I loved the relationship between Ophelia and Blackwell although I will say I felt that Ophelia could be a bit naive at times. Definitely on the spicer side for me but I didn’t mind it, sometimes it felt like a bit much but I’m still easing into spicer stories.
Definitely read the trigger warnings before reading this because the parts where Ophelia’s OCD came out could be harder to read about (at least for me).
Cannot wait to snag a copy of Enchantra and see what the author is going to do next!

After returning home, Claire gets sucked into the past trying to connect with her sister who was murdered 22 years previously.
I love mysteries with dual timelines and I loved that this book kept going back and forth between the present day and the 1980s. The characters were so interesting and you knew something wasn’t right from the very beginning.
I did manage to piece together a couple things that happened in the story but not the whole thing and there’s always something satisfying about coming up with a theory in the early chapters of a book and finding out you’re right even if you didn’t figure out the whole story.
Another gem from Stacy Willingham and I can’t wait to see what she delivers next!
Thank you to the author and the publisher for an early copy of the book!

I think I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book!
It picks up a few months after the last one left off and there’s a new mystery to be solved in Castle Knoll, and old one and a new one.
I enjoyed the characters just as much as the first time and loved the scenes going back and forth between the past and the present.
Definitely going to enjoy reading more by this author in the future!
