Super duper intense, kind of a mismatch to the picture book format. I would give this to an older child, probably 9 and up. Compare to books about the holocaust, in assessing emotional maturity for handling the content.

Very similar in tone to Record of a Spacemen Few, in a lovely and meditative way. I think the title of Psalm is very apt. It's not my religion, being one specific to this book, but it's also a very lovely theology that is easy to overlay on and compare with my own spiritual traditions.

Mostly about autism, but also about the individual child as well. Probably a good read for friends of neurodiverse kids, but I would look to the autism community to be sure, first, as it is not own voices.

Moralizing and not much fun.

Well written, perfect read for autumn. I don't love the conclusion ,and the world building is a bit shaky. Enjoyable read though, I would hand to lovers of ghost stories as well as rags to riches tales.

Solid, but I do wish there were a bit more about the native peoples and how they cared for the rainforest before a white lady showed up to discover things. Still, she was a real person and did discover amazing things, and this book covers her story well.

A delightful fanfic using classic tropes in a queer and beautiful manner. I also very much enjoy this explanation of how exactly Neverland works. It creates a stronger world-building backdrop to the story than the original Pan ever had. My only objection is the lack of shadows. I adore when Peter loses his shadow, and really wanted that to come into play. It didn't, but the whole confection of a story was still delicious.

randomly breaks into verse. I don't particularly like novels in verse, though if I know what I'm getting into I will occasionally read one and enjoy it. I don't want my prose novel to just break into verse for pages at a go.

A lovely sequel, though a bit preachy.
