That was a fun romp into a YA mystery with a touch of supernatural! It was worth the sleep I ignored lol!
Finished it in less than 24 hours and the shocks kept me flipping pages at 1 am.
No regrets!

I picked this one up and could not put it down.
There wasn't a single thing I did not like about it.
It was a riveting story from page one. A great mystery that kept me guessing. And the ending was satisfying.
This is the beginning of my Eddie Flynn addiction.

This book is a full 5 stars on pure vibes alone! I loved it!
It is a swoon-y, sweet read that includes a host of adorable side characters, and main characters who make you scream for all the right reasons.
In reading this, prepare for mystery, alien drama, and positive mental health rep. Although it took me a bit to get into at the start once I connected with the FMC and saw who she really was, the book just sucked me right in.
The MMC is technically a superhero, but really is he? It is delicious watching his truth unfold throughout the book.
This is a fun, yummy read, which I recommend to anyone who needs a heartwarming intergalactic tale!

For over a year and a half, I have been waiting to read this story. I found the author on IG, read her description of what she was hoping to write, and it intrigued me. All of her posts and promo, I was enthusiastic about. Britney S. Lewis was clear about wanting to achieve justice for Bonnie. As an avid lover of vampire stories, and a watcher of The Vampire Diaries, she was disappointed with the treatment of Bonnie’s character and sought to write a book that told a different tale.
With that premise already set in my mind, I was eager to read Blood Moon. Since I saw the way Bonnie was sidelined in the stories. The potential was there for her to be much more, but it was never truly explored. So what better place to do so than a brand new book, where Bonnie is not the friend but the one with ALL THE main character energy.
Let me just say... MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Mirabella, our FMC, is sensible, asks the right questions, and is determined to find the truth. To do this, she takes some chances that made my heart beat a lil faster. Oooo, this woman dares to walk along with danger and not run from it at times. It makes for great reading, but damn! This book fully explored what could have been if this black female character was allowed to blossom and grow, with her own secrets, her own personal lore, and her own true power. Reading this kept me giddy and immersed in this story.
I flowed through the pages a lot quicker than I expected and it felt as though in an instant, boom! I was done and trying to understand how a book can have a DOUBLE CLIFFHANGER. Yup. It was the first time I have ever experienced that. It was a double WHAMMY!
But do not let that daunt you, as the ending is still very satisfying.
We get answers!
We get our FMC standing up for herself.
We get a perfect entry into the other books.
I have absolutely no complaints, even though I am now craving the rest of this series. Cannot wait to see what else unfolds.
The MMCs, yes, there is more than one, made me squint and I kept trying to dismantle what they were really about. I am still side eyeing them both, but the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope is hardcore, as is that triangle. (Mmmmhmmmmm it gets heated.)
The villain is unexpected, and those twists, babeeeee, the author is REAL lucky I did not have her phone number. My texts would have lit her phone up. (I just lit up her Threads account instead lol!)
Truthfully, Britney S. Lewis delivered all she has been promising and so much more. This is not just justice for Bonnie, it is giving a voice and MC energy to those who have been sidelined for way too long. Especially since their stories are so blinking interesting. It makes me so happy to have read this and to recommend it to everyone who has been searching for a Vampire/Werewolf Lore book where the pretty black girl is the source and the vibe.
Read this one. You will have no regrets.

This book gave me all the warm fuzzies in the world. Sigh... it was a wonderful read.
I went in expecting a dystopian novel and came out with a sense of hope for humanity. It feels like I was blessed with a gift of joyful perspective. This is thanks to the FMC, Eden. Her sense of wonder, even after so much skepticism and personal pain, was refreshing. The author wrote her in such a way that, as a reader, you are able to flow through her emotions right alongside her. And we go through the gamut! It is quite enjoyable though and was probably my favorite part of the book. Just being there with Eden, every step of the way.
Now that is not to say we do not have a lovely pair of MMCs. Because lol we do! They both appealed to me for very different reasons. Henry was a constant friend and support, while Theo... oh Theo. He was a lot more than he initially seemed, and discovering all that he was… was sublime.
The side characters add a lot to this story. There are pranks, there are ulterior motives, and hilarious scenes as the competitors figure out their way through this Bachelorette competition. So. Much. Fun.
I’m confident recommending this one to anyone who enjoys gasping at 2 AM when a twist hits. Or anyone who loves to see true love win. In fact, anyone who loves a well-written story, because that is exactly what this is.
Well done, Jill Tew! Well done!

If a book starts with someone enraged by an interrupted meal of plantain, I automatically assume it's bound to be outstanding. That is how A Song of Legends Lost starts, and I was absolutely spot on with my assumption.
This was a 5, all the stars epic, mind bending, tale that had me stunned, hooked, and yearning for more. It starts with a sumptuous breakfast being interrupted, but it winds its way to an ending that left me gobsmacked.
M.Y. Ayinde has changed things with this book, and I am ecstatic I am here to read it all.
Yes, for the initial anger with the plantains but immediately after that we get a sense of what exactly this world, one of lost technology, which keeps showing up unexpectedly, monsters, and ancestral magic, is all about. (Or so we think!) This combination keeps you on your toes, wondering how it all fits together. As you read, you learn the history of a lost species, and their technology, which is now forbidden. And then there is this special bond with the ancestors that only certain highbloods may access? While the monsters? Are they monsters? You ponder this for a long time. Actually, you ponder a lot of things as the story flows along. The author keeps up this intriguing foreshadowing, making your brain question everything. It is the BEST!
The story unfolds in a pre-colonial world, rich with tribal traditions and influences, while it follows five different viewpoints. A young baker in a poor neighborhood, a general’s son who cannot achieve anything in life, a captain who has lost the love of her life, a priest who you clearly cannot trust, and an unnamed young woman who washes dishes trying to keep her brother alive. They give us the true width and breadth of this world. Through their eyes, we see the power of politics and religion. We also see that history is what we are told, not necessarily what actually happened.
The mysteries in this epic Sci-Fi Fantasy pulled at me. Honestly, I am still turning them over in my mind. This is one of those books, well series really, which will stay with me. Entombed in my brain and will randomly come up in many conversations of mine. I mean it has already started lol!
This one was written for those of us who love grandiose tales. Those whose imaginations defy limitations and whose capacity for lore and world building is endless. A Song of Legends Lost is a thick, absorbing read, one that I hope reaches into the hands of true SFF lovers or even better into the hands of those who, through it, discover how spectacular a SFF read can be.
Loved this book... I cannot wait to see the rest of it unfold.

Picture yourself on a Thursday night, home cozy, and you want some spice, some gossipy mess, with healthy dashes of humor in between to start your weekend just right. (Yes, the weekend starts on Thursday! At least my weekend reading starts then lol)
This is the book for all of that.
The Divorcétante lets us into the mind of a FMC (Ebony) just as a scandal destroys her marriage, and a MMC (Linc) who has his family name on his shoulders. It is a dual POV story and is filled with characters who keep the jokes and side eyes flowing.
I enjoyed this one. It was spicy, realistic, and funny! Ebony is going through it with her ex and his Momma, who both made me want to reach into the pages and act outside of myself. Whew! But they make the reading emotional and relatable. We all have those kinds of people in our lives.
Then there are the friends. The ones who form a circle of support (well, not all of them ahem!) around both the main characters. I especially enjoyed seeing the male relationships, where they spoke the truth to one another, in the most hilarious of ways. That was a lovely touch to the entire story.
Between the wedding, the comeback, and the major get back, I kept turning pages and cheering for Ebony and Linc to find their way forward. And oooooo boy did they ever.
With salacious back stories, and a satisfying end, I feel happy to recommend this one to anyone who loves a good second at love romance.
Thank you so much to Net Galley and Mia Heintzelman for allowing me the chance to review this wonderful arc.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! This book is just a big ole YES!
I definitely will be telling everyone I know to read it!
The crux of the story lies between the FMC, who is a brilliant doctor/scientist/researcher, and the MMC, who is a deadly, ruthless, but handsome assassin. He needs everyone to know exactly how seductive he is. It is mandatory. Guess who does not see or acknowledge it? YUP! The FMC. This is just the tip of their angsty, bitter iceberg. And yes, it is an iceberg, a weighty, bedrock of constant, witty, hilarious banter.
I laughed out loud so many times while reading this. These two going after each other was enchanting. They are in the midst of a slow burn, but it is very slow, however that tension, the back and forth, it is delectable. I ate it up and craved more.

What also made this an absolutely enjoyable read was the mystery and story line built around these two. You could feel the threads knitting together and being used to tie them closer and closer.
The world building is fascinating, with a mix of magic and technology. And those side characters, unforgettable. There are so many interesting side quests and characters here. Each chapter just keeps calling you back to read more and more.

Brigitte Knightley has me infatuated with her writing.
This is the kind of book you read when you need joy and spicy banter in your life. A pick me up book. One that will slay sadness and bring you cheer, no matter what is going on around you.
I really hope this is just the beginning of a wide ranging set of books within this world. Maybe a duology per couple, because it feels as though there are many secrets and stories just waiting to be devoured in here.

Mmmm, this was good. Samantha Shannon smoothly slipped those of us who love The Roots of Chaos series back into this world of fire, brimstone, and brave hearts.
From page one, I felt as though a spell surrounded me and I was being guided through a previously hidden door in this universe. From the other books we know certain details and characters, but in this one we get a direct view of the rise of one of the favoured of the Nameless One.
The resurgence of this vicious, familiar creature is now detailed in a way that deepens the lore of this world. It makes you wonder about the events already written. Truthfully, all I want to do now is go reread The Priory of the Orange Tree. Especially now I have this build up fresh in my mind.
Among the Burning Flowers is a welcome addition to this series, one that snaps up your imagination and attention instantly.
Lovers of Samantha Shannon’s work have a new book to add to their favorites, and anyone who has not discovered her work as yet, well, they have a great starting point to dive into these Roots of Chaos.

This was a twisty shock to my system.
The story was both devious and thrilling. Highlighting that you never know all there is to know about your family, especially your Mom.
Overall it was a quick read that kept me happily turning pages consistently thoughout.
Pick this up if you are in the mood to solve a mystery and to delve into deep, dark, disturbing family secrets, which all comes to a very satisfying end.
A great weekend or vaca read, that I gladly recommend.
