Book Review: Stuart Little ⭐⭐⭐⭐✍️
I gave Stuart Little 4.5 out of 5 stars! 🐭✨ It's such a fast and delightful read, perfect for a quick escape into a whimsical world. I realized after reading it as an adult that many of the things I remembered from the movies don’t actually happen in the book, which left me feeling like something was missing. 🤔 Still, E.B. White's writing style is wonderful and timeless, making it a classic favorite! 📚 It’s a fun in-between read that’ll definitely make you smile. 😊
Highly recommended if you're looking for a bit of light-hearted nostalgia! 💖

Book Review: "Make Time" - 2.75/5 ⭐️
I started Make Time with high hopes, and it did deliver some helpful tips, but overall it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. 📚
What I liked:
- Scheduling "me time" and being productive within that time ✅
- Not letting others double-book you during your dedicated time ⏰
- Writing things down because it actually makes you more likely to get them done ✍️
- Creating a priority list that includes you and your health 💪🏼 🧘
However, there were parts I didn’t agree with:
- The idea that it's okay to flake on people or plans just because it's your time 🤷🏻♀️. I believe it's more about not over-booking yourself in the first place. Life happens, but flaking on others who are counting on you is not the same as canceling due to unavoidable circumstances.
- The focus on self-importance at the expense of others—it felt a bit too me-centered, especially as a parent of four, where I’m second only to my health 💖.
If you're struggling with time management, and want to stop doom scrolling or wasting time, this book might offer some help. However, if you're looking for more long-term habits, I recommend Atomic Habits over this one. 🔄

🌟 Zodiac Academy: Cursed Fates
The book is lucky to have gotten 3 stars. It felt unnecessarily long, and the character development really dropped off. The writing style needs a lot of work, and a new editor is definitely in order. The plot got lost along the way, and there were way too many filler scenes just to bulk up the book. The sex scenes were unnecessary, and the ending was honestly just ridiculous.
The biggest issue was the victim-blaming and the toxic “love” with the abuser. The relationships were completely unrealistic, even for a dark fantasy romance. The drama felt forced and added nothing to the story. And that unneeded threesome? It made no sense at all. It honestly felt like they’re writing sex scenes without really understanding how they work.
Okay, enough ranting. I’m still debating whether to continue the series since I already own the rest. Lesson learned: buy one book at a time from now on.

Book Review: A Killing Cold by Kate Alice Marshall
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.25/5 (3.25 stars)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.25/5 (3.25 stars)
I listened to A Killing Cold on Libby, and it was an engaging enough mystery to keep me going. While I didn’t quite figure out "whodunit" (not that there were major plot twists), I did lose track of some details in my attempt to solve the case myself. It wasn't necessarily a twist-heavy plot, but the unraveling of the mystery was enough to hold my attention.
What I appreciated most was how A Killing Cold felt different from other books in the genre. It had its own unique rhythm that made it stand out from typical mysteries. Though I didn’t feel blown away by the book, it kept me interested and was definitely a fun listen.
I’d be open to trying more of Kate Alice Marshall’s books in the future. If you’re into slow-burn mysteries with a touch of the unexpected, this one’s worth checking out!

📚 Book Review: A Soul as Cold as Frost by Jennifer Kropf ❄️
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3.75/5
I went into A Soul as Cold as Frost expecting a dark academia, magical schemes kind of vibe—something akin to Harry Potter with a twist. That’s how it was recommended to me. But, boy, was that NOT what I got. The book wasn’t what I thought it would be, and that might be why I struggled to connect with it. 😕
Let me be clear: the writing itself was solid, especially for a debut novel! ✍️ The author’s talent is evident, and I really appreciated the world-building and depth they put into the story. But the plot and characters didn’t click for me—especially Annie. I was hoping for that magical, mysterious energy that “dark academia” usually brings, but this one felt colder, more distant, and less about the enchanted schemes I was expecting.
It’s not the author’s fault at all. The way social media hyped it up just gave me the wrong idea. I think this may be one of those books that needs to be read at a different time with a fresh mindset. 🌙
Overall, A Soul as Cold as Frost has potential, and I see why others might connect with it. Just wasn’t *my* vibe. I’d still recommend giving it a shot if you're into more atmospheric, introspective stories that aren’t driven by the magical chaos I had in mind.

Book Review: Onyx Storm (Book Three)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (4.5/5)
Onyx Storm is the third book in a series I’ve been loving, but this one didn’t quite live up to the excitement of the first. While the plot and characters are still engaging, I found it a bit harder to get through this time. The first book had me hooked from the start, but this one took me a little longer to finish. I wasn’t in a rush to reach the end, though I’m still a fan of the world and the romance. 💖
That being said, I’m still glad I read it! The romance remains a highlight, and it definitely won the battle in my genre face-off for romance. 🔥💘 The author’s writing continues to shine, and the character development was strong, even if I wasn’t as fully immersed this time around.
I gave it 4.5 stars using the CAWPILE system, and I’m curious to see where the story goes from here! 📚✨

📚Book Review: Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie ⭐⭐⭐ 3.75/5
Murder on the Orient Express is a classic whodunit that takes readers on a thrilling journey aboard the famous train. The pacing is steady—not too fast, not too slow—allowing you to savor every detail while still maintaining an air of suspense. The plot is intriguing, with an impressive cast of characters, each harboring their own secrets. 🚂🔍
The mystery is engaging, and the final twist, as always with Agatha Christie, is unexpected yet satisfying. Though I enjoyed the read, I felt it lacked the jaw-dropping suspense I was hoping for, but that didn't take away from the overall enjoyment. 👀
I’d definitely recommend this to fans of classic mysteries or anyone who enjoys solving puzzles! ✨

📚 Book Review: Murder Your Employer by Rupert Holmes ⚰️
I was really excited about Murder Your Employer after its intriguing start, but sadly, it lost its momentum for me. The opening was engaging, but as the story progressed, I found myself losing interest. The characters felt distant, and the plot turned more into a conversation than the suspenseful, juicy storyline I had hoped for. 🕵️♀️
While the premise is fun and quirky, I just couldn’t connect with it as much as I wanted to. That said, it might still be a great pick for a light read between more intense books. For me, though, it was a bit of a letdown. 🤷♀️
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 stars – It's not a bad read, but not one I’ll remember for long.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book Review! 📚
I just finished The Resting Place and I’m giving it 4 stars using the CAWPILE rating system! 🔥 This book had the perfect mix of suspense and mystery, keeping me intrigued from start to finish. The pacing was solid—things moved along at a nice clip, but I did hit a bit of a snag towards the end when the character names started to pile up. It got a little hard to keep track of everyone, which slowed me down a bit. 😅
Still, the twists were worth it, and I’m glad I pushed through! If you're into atmospheric thrillers with plenty of mystery, The Resting Place is a great pick. 🔍
