This was such an interesting story, largely because of the way it was written. The author breaks the fourth wall regularly, which isn't something I typically enjoy but I did here! Overall, an engaging and fun read for a snowy/cold/dreary weekend.

This has been my favorite of the whole series so far. I knew from the first time that Mitch was introduced he’d be my favorite, and I stand by that after finishing his story. Perhaps more than any of the other books so far this one made the friend group feel like my own family. They leapt off the pages and felt like I was actively living among them. If I loved this one this much, I can’t wait to read the next one and see how DeLuca’s writing continues to improve and how much further I can fall into love with the Willow Creek gang.

Literally screeching once again. I’m ✨obsessed✨ with this series (well… Raihn). and for the record I loved Raihn even at the end of book one, but maybe that’s something for my therapist and I to discuss the fact that I have to wait a YEAR for the next book in this series is already killing me. Hooray for the stand-alone coming next week!

I wasn’t expecting new characters, but I liked them. I’m even more excited to start the next book because I can’t wait to see how they fit in to the plot!

Gosh hope I don’t need my heart because this book just ripped it out of my chest. I’m not crying you’re crying.

I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book! It pulled me out of a reading slump and was just the island-y thing I needed in the middle of this early Midwestern spring.

This audiobook/storyline actually held my attention while I worked, which is a rarity for me. It was interesting, twisty, and kept me on my toes! This is one of those books that you can't help but think about every waking moment until you finish it.

There is not a single thing that Rachel Held Evans has written that I did not need immensely. Her words are both a challenging kick in the butt and the hug that welcomes you home.
Church hurts. Life hurts. Faith hurts. But that isn’t an excuse to shut everything out. Instead, Evans reminds us that we should lean in because you cannot know the resurrection Sunday without first wading through the grief and pain that the days prior to that event held. At the end of the day, we’re just imperfect people desperately trying to show the world God. But that’s also what makes Church beautiful, too. As someone who struggles on nearly every level with Sunday mornings, Evans reminded me that those feelings and doubts actually belong in church, too. That I belong in church. That I have an important part to play in making sure others feel this way, too. Because that is the Gospel. That is who God is.
