informative slow-paced

I picked up this book as a textbook for my seminary course on leadership. It was a dense, heady, and academic read.  Not my favorite or most readable textbook, but Cortez does a decent job of packing in all the information in a condensed manner. I will say without my class to help me break it down, I would still be quite perplexed (even more, perhaps) than I was going into this book, though.

Everything so far has been around the FMC’s weight. I saw it it the CWs before starting but didn’t think it would literally be the only subject matter. Not my vibe.

This might be a new all-time favorite series. I just read books 2+3 within 48 hours on top of working full time and my grad school work. If that doesn’t convince you that these are absolutely worth picking up, I don’t know what else will. Highly, highly, highly recommend!!

I have no words except that I am completely and utterly obsessed.

I wanted a good cozy mystery with alllll the small town vibes to kick off a series that would actually hold my interest. And I think I just found it! This book was sweet and emotional in all the right places. It wasn’t cheesy, entirely unbelievable, or terribly predictable! A must read for any cozy mystery lover

Looking for something to fill the hole Bree Baker’s Seaside Cafe Mysteries left and this might be just the thing! Eva runs the cutest sounding b&b in a small coastal town with a weekly (cozy) mystery book club that ends up helping her solve a real crime. This hit the spot for sure!!

Suspenseful & tense. I guessed it had really strong
Gone Girl
vibes from the beginning, which made it a bit predictable for me. This was still so engaging and so well done for a YA. I think sometimes they tend to be really flat to stay clean and safe, but this one managed to be tense and intriguing without the gory details. This will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last word!

I went into this book expecting some sort of Gossip Girl meets Crazy Rich Asians meets Oceans 8 plot, which was not entirely off base but also not entirely accurate. This book was an enjoyable read, because who hasn’t thought about what it would be like to be a rich celebrity? But the characters weren’t always too likable and the plot erred towards unbelievable. Still worth picking up, though!

This book was brutal to read. She experienced so many things at such a young age that no one should ever have to endure. The most powerful part was reading about her and her family's recovery process.
