The ending of this book absolutely made it! I hate the

miscommunication

trope, which I started suspecting was going on from the first phone call of bowling jacket dude overheard in the elevator. Between that fear and just not vibing with the main character well, I ended up putting down the book for a good, long while. 

While this certainly wasn't my favorite book I've read recently, the last few chapters did actually win my heart a bit. Joe-Bowling-Jacket-Dude (MMC) and Sadie (FMC) are still far from what I typically like in main characters, but oddly enough I actually liked them together even if I didn't like them individually. I was cheering them on (especially that art exhibit scene... my goodness...). The plot largely centers around Sadie's development of facial blindness, which was SO interesting and unique for a rom-com plot. I might have unlocked a new fear, but it's fine, I'm fine. Overall, I can say that while the first 75% of this may not have been my personal cup of tea, I fully understand why so many of my friends and local booksellers love it and will recommend it to others. Plus I mean... with a cover this cute, how could the book not be a good time?

This book was so sweet and even made me tear up several times. This family is INCREDIBLE! I also loved the tension between Lindy and Pat the whole. dang. book. It just wouldn’t let up until the end, but it was so good!

Phillips brings new life and depth to one of my favorite Bible stories—Queen Esther. So many aspects and emotions I realized I glossed over or never took into consideration, and I know I will never read the Bible the same way after finishing this book. This was my first biblical fiction book, but it certainly won’t be my last!!

This was an interesting read, especially for those who found themselves drawn into the Anna Delvey case or love a good female con artist. Outside of the general setting, things were fairly predictable, though. 

Omg I saw absolutely none of that coming. At first I thought the time loop thing was weird and kind of gimmicky, but it ended up being SO INTERESTING

I don’t know how each one of these books ends up being my new favorite. This has become one of my favorite comfort series that I predict re-reading many, many times. 

As for this book specifically, I was hoping that Dex would get his own book and it finally happened!! I love the way all of these characters’ stories weave in and out of each others in a way that feels real and fluid. I don’t have enough words to describe how much I love seeing how far they’ve all come and how much I LOVE DEX AND LULU!!! 

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this, but ended up loving it! I’m not a zombie girlie at all, but the premise of this book (if instead of the COVID outbreak we had a minor zombie apocalypse) was really interesting and unlike anything I’ve read before. 

Honestly, the only thing I didn’t love was the Emily in Paris view of influencers and social media marketing, which was unfortunately a large part of the book. Other than that, this was such a sweet & hilarious cozy set in one of my favorite places: the shores of Lake Michigan. Does it get any better than this?!

Don't hate me... but this is by far my least favorite Emily Henry. I was SO excited for this one, so this is heartbreaking. The writing was immaculate, but

I couldn't get past how everything always came back to essentially just these huge miscommunications because people couldn't be bothered to share their feelings with their friends. I've been there, so while I tried to understand, I also just couldn't wrap my head around why they were hiding some of the biggest things in their lives from the people they claim to love the most. Because of how nuanced Henry's books have been before, I kept waiting for something bigger or more intense to take place, but it never did. Just some miscommunication.

I did appreciate how she handled conversations around mental health, though! So while it might not have been my favorite plot-wise, I still absolutely stan the way that she words things.
