Okay so I definitely give these books more credit than they deserve but THIS one was SO ROUGH. Honestly it was just petty and dumb and I read this book LESS THAN 12 HOURS AGO AND I CANNOT REMEMBER HOW IT ENDED?
The formatting was very uncomfortable in this one. It’s broken up into three different characters POVs, but rather than switching from one to the other, it’s just separated into blocks? The first third of this book follows Schyler and Jack and after that we see absolutely nothing of what they are doing until the end of the book??? The second and third parts go together a little more smoothly because even though the POV changes we at least are following the same story.
But it is just too convenient? The characters are so distracted by things that are completely irrelevant to IMPORTANT PLOT points and yet it all falls into place so perfectly despite there being no effort or attention paid to the real issues. It just felt messy. Which is saying something because none of these books are super?? I don’t even know how to explain it when a book in a series that isn’t spectacular is worse than the ones before it but this was just too petty for me to be actually interested in what was going on. The previous books balance the drama and the important stuff pretty well, and this one just didn’t. The drama overshadows everything and not in a good way.
I also felt very lost during the flashbacks in this one up until the end. Which is probably why I was so lost throughout this book and when it FINALLY clicked I was like oh yes this will probably work and I see where this is going but unfortunately that happened to late in this book for me to enjoy this/to save this TRAINWRECK. 2 stars because there is at the very least hope that the rest of the series might pick up and that everything that happened here wasn’t completely useless.
Also the flashbacks usually tie in with what is currently happening in the book and while I remember how the issue in the flashback ended and what that meant for the present I CANNOT remember how the actual problem that is present in this novel is solved/explained?

Bloody Valentine delivers where Keys to the Repository was lacking. Actual novellas about some of my faves!! Novellas to fill in the blanks and give me more of what I was missing from the stories!!! AND YET I WAS SO UNSATISFIED.

I’ll break it down by novellas for ya because each one was TRULY a disaster in it’s own way.
1. The Oliver centered novella explains how he will be able to move on from Schyler. To put it simply I think this could have been handled in a much better way. It was so OOC, entirely to convenient and also I’m pretty sure it was just here so that MDLC could give a shout out to her spin off series. All things considered I was actually intrigued by the character introduced in this one and so yeah it worked I’ll probably read the spin off series. But this story wasn’t necessary, I didn’t want or need it, definitely could have lived with out it.
2. This one was actually pretty cute. Explained a lot about Allegra, but the ending made absolutely no sense in terms of the actual series. It didn’t line up with how the rest of the series goes and unless I misread it I don’t understand why the author had this happen the way it did. Left me with more questions than answers. Okay that’s not true, it answered some questions buuuuut left me with new ones
3. THIS ONE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. It was supposed to be so cute and great and this was literally the only one I was looking forward too and we had to go and add unnecessary plot? I literally just wanted cute fluff and instead I got unnecessary drama that literally added NOTHING to the series !!!!! At least the first two added something even if they were annoying?? The drama in this DID NOT A SINGLE THING OTHER THAN MAKE THIS LONGER THAN IT NEEDED TO BE. The ending was cute tho, I’m just mad that the novella was pointless when it could have literally just be cute fluff.

Basically I just wish all these novellas were delivered differently. 2 stars because in general I liked the end result I just wish they were handled better.

This book was a bit of a mess, but I've read worse? I’ve realized that my issue with MDLC’s writing, is that the pacing is just a bit off. Her stories move quickly which is great because they make for really fun/fast reads BUT unfortunately they are lacking where some more details and explanations would be appreciated. It just leaves her stories (at least in terms of this series) feeling a bit underdeveloped.

In this installment to the Blue Bloods series there are three different points of view and it takes a very, very, long time to understand why they are all in the same book. Characters act pretty ridiculously, and a lot of the events felt like they were thrown in for a wow factor. This was a lot of filler to lead up to the conclusion of the series, and while it was relatively entertaining it felt unnecessary until the ending when there was magically an explanation that had everything “making sense.” By that I mean they tell you it makes sense even though I'm still not sure if it does or not? This is where my previously mentioned desire for some more details and explanations would be nice...
The saving grace in this book were the chapters with Allegra, it was really refreshing to have her point of view thrown in and to get some explanations for her story line. Everything else about this felt pretty old and recycled. I’m looking forward to finishing the series but at this point I’m not sure if it is because I actually care about what happens next or if I just want it to end? Like I said earlier this was entertaining but it just wasn’t anything special. The last few books have felt like a completely different series from the first four, so I guess I’ll see what the conclusion has to offer me. *shrugs*

THIS WAS FUN.

Wolfpact is a spin off of sorts to the Blue Bloods series. It’s a series of novellas that help explain some of the events that happen behind the scenes between the end of book 5 and book 7! It is not necessary to read these novellas but I am honestly really happy that I did!
In terms of what I disliked from these novellas, it’s really just the same issues I have with the Blue Bloods series…the writing is a bit weak/underdeveloped at times and the pacing is a bit strange in certain parts BUT because this is a compilation of novellas it isn’t as irritating as it is in the main series.

Like I said earlier, these were fun! I read all four in one sitting. They were fast paced, they didn’t introduce to much new information so they were easy to follow. The new characters were relatively likeable, plus my girl Bliss was back in the spotlight in this compilation. There’s a nice touch of romance here, but it is done in a way that respects the characters and other events going on in the story. This had the fun feel from the beginning of the BB series, when I was comparing it to Gossip Girl but with a fantasy twist. Definitely renewed my excitement for the series!! Not crucial to the series by any means but if you’re into the series I’d say it is worth taking the time to read this.

Oh man, oh man, oh man. This book was a mess. It was a complete disaster, it was sloppy, and in my completely honest opinion it lacked everything a good book should offer.

There was little to no character development. The plot felt like it didn’t exist. Events took place in ways that felt entirely too convenient. The writing was awkward. If you didn’t read the novellas in between over 1/3 of this book would have made NO SENSE. And over half of this was completely pointless. Basically to sum it up, this book, along with the last two, felt very underdeveloped.

While the writing in this series was never exactly spectacular, the story was at the very least entertaining. But in the last two books I feel like the author bit off more than she could chew. She tries to keep the fun drama from the first few books, but it starts to feel repetitive when the characters are having the same internal debates six books later. Also she keeps this same drama despite the fact that the plot appears to be becoming more complex and the fact that in this case the characters appear to have resolved some of their conflict in previous books. The story was changing, but the characters weren’t. It was really difficult to be interested in the story when the characters themselves didn’t even seem to care that much about the plot.

I could have read the last few chapters of this book and been fine. The actual conclusion to the series was pretty nice. There were a lot of happy endings, it was nice to see that happen for the characters I spent so much time with the last few weeks. But other than that this book felt completely pointless. Like I mentioned the lack of character development, is incredibly clear in this book. Even with different priorities in this book, they’re behaviors and thoughts are all pretty much the same as they always have been. So even though I enjoyed the ending much more than I thought I would, I don’t really understand how any of the characters ended up where they were. The entire conclusion to this series tried very hard to be mysterious and complex, but fell flat because it felt too convenient.

This book was not good. The ending was nostalgic and that was the only redeeming factor. This series could have been much better if the author took time fully explain events and concepts, but there is so much left that is undefined. Or it could have ended earlier if the author focused on the plot and not all the petty drama. (I know it's ironic that I say that when I was living for the petty earlier in the series). There isn’t enough balance between everything going on in the story and it left me annoyed and confused.

If I were to describe this in one word, it would be “excellent.”
Saga has it all: An addictive story, beautiful art work, great characters and lots of sex. What more could anyone need? This story has an incredible balance between important issues and humor that lets readers become attached to the story and the characters but still keeps a fun vibe while reading it. I don’t read a lot of graphic novels so I wasn’t 100% sure of what the expect here but I was really pleased with this.

Honestly the only thing I wanted more of in this story was some more defined world building and character back stories, but considering the length and content of this, I’m not sure it would have fit in naturally. So I’ll just continue on with the series and let it happen when it happens. Not really sure how to review graphic novels without just repeatedly saying that this was awesome, so I guess I’ll just leave it at that. This was awesome.

This was pretty good but i think some of its charm was lost on me considering that i read it for the first time at 23. Not sure if I'll read the rest in the series.
