Bloody Valentine by Melissa de la Cruz
2.0

Bloody Valentine delivers where Keys to the Repository was lacking. Actual novellas about some of my faves!! Novellas to fill in the blanks and give me more of what I was missing from the stories!!! AND YET I WAS SO UNSATISFIED.

I’ll break it down by novellas for ya because each one was TRULY a disaster in it’s own way.
1. The Oliver centered novella explains how he will be able to move on from Schyler. To put it simply I think this could have been handled in a much better way. It was so OOC, entirely to convenient and also I’m pretty sure it was just here so that MDLC could give a shout out to her spin off series. All things considered I was actually intrigued by the character introduced in this one and so yeah it worked I’ll probably read the spin off series. But this story wasn’t necessary, I didn’t want or need it, definitely could have lived with out it.
2. This one was actually pretty cute. Explained a lot about Allegra, but the ending made absolutely no sense in terms of the actual series. It didn’t line up with how the rest of the series goes and unless I misread it I don’t understand why the author had this happen the way it did. Left me with more questions than answers. Okay that’s not true, it answered some questions buuuuut left me with new ones
3. THIS ONE HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL. It was supposed to be so cute and great and this was literally the only one I was looking forward too and we had to go and add unnecessary plot? I literally just wanted cute fluff and instead I got unnecessary drama that literally added NOTHING to the series !!!!! At least the first two added something even if they were annoying?? The drama in this DID NOT A SINGLE THING OTHER THAN MAKE THIS LONGER THAN IT NEEDED TO BE. The ending was cute tho, I’m just mad that the novella was pointless when it could have literally just be cute fluff.

Basically I just wish all these novellas were delivered differently. 2 stars because in general I liked the end result I just wish they were handled better.
