I really enjoyed An Enchantment of Ravens because of its fantastical world and the strong characters. There were parts of the story that dragged for me in terms of pacing but overall I enjoyed the reading experience. If you like dark fantasy that holds true to the more mythological truths of the Fae I think you will enjoy this book. This was a 4 out of 5 star book for me.
This story would have been better for me if the pacing was a little more concise. I felt like the first half of the book the pacing was working so well but then we got to more of the action and I felt that the author was trying to create an ending that kept the reader on the edge of their seats but it fell a little flat for me personally. There were some graphic depictions of things decaying that made me a little queasy but other than that I didn't see any other problematic things in terms of the relationship of our main characters.
The biggest appeal for me was the fact that the Fae in this story hold true to the more mythological depiction of Fae. I loved that our main character Isobel knew to be careful in the way that she word the enchantments that she wanted for payment in a way that were very specific just so that the Fae couldn't do what they did to so many other humans. I also really liked that Isobel was a strong character on her own who knew what she wanted in life and that her Craft never became second to the love interest.
Here is one of my favorite quotes from Isobel " I'd always scoffed at stories in which maidens pine for their absent suitors, boys they've hardly known a week and have no business falling for. Didn't they realize their lives were worth more than the dubious affection of one silly young man?"
I think that this book had a lot to offer and overall really enjoyed my time reading this book.

The is the collection of short stories that give the background to what happen before Throne of Glass starts. I really enjoyed these stories. Each story somewhat built on the story that came before it.
I think that the Celeana as a character was a little annoy sometimes with all of her commentary of how she was the best at everything and how she treated Sam even though she was obviously in love with him as long as he had been in love with her.
The things I loved were some of the side characters that I know show back up in later books and getting some back story on them was really interesting.
I think that this book overall added to the series as a whole and would recommend any one who is reading The Throne of Glass series to read.

I really enjoyed the friendship between our two main characters Ridge and Sydney. I had a good time reading this book but there were definitely parts of this book that irritated me.
The biggest problems that I had with this book was that they took the friends to lover trope a little to far for me. I really like this trope but the use of Sydney and Ridge writing music to then make them "fall for each other" while Ridge was still in a relationship really bothered me.
I did really enjoy the deaf representation in this book and how we got to see a deaf person being able to make music. I also really enjoyed that there was representation of ASL.
I can definitely see why people could really love this book but I do see the problematic nature of the relationship in this book. My rating for this book is a 3 out of 5 because there were definitely things that I really enjoyed about this book but also things that really bothered me. I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone.

I enjoyed this book and can see why so many people seem to love it. The atmosphere of the story was very engrossing.
I really enjoyed that the narrator was unnamed and that we got to see her obsession with Manderly and Rebecca. I also really that the setting was so atmospheric.
Manderly is the home of Max de Winter and at the beginning of the story we learn that his wife mysteriously drowned in a sailing accident. While he is on a holiday in Monte Carlo he meets our narrator while she is a companion to an older American lady.
The relationship between Max de Winter and our narrator is never the kind of relationship I was hoping for but I do like that when everything was revealed that our narrator and Max stuck together through everything.
The ending was a little lack luster for me but I do understand why people love this book and this author. I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

I enjoyed this book so much I found the characters very compelling and the story of their lives through out the time they were in Auschwitz very moving. I felt like the love story in this was very well done even though there were more important things through out the story than just the romance.
What would have made this story better for me was the pacing. This story was told over a three year period and I wish there would have been a little bit more elaboration of what was going on in the camp. I feel like some of the harshness of the concentration camp setting was just brushed over. I would have liked a little more grit.
What I loved about this story was the characters Lale was so compelling and I was rooting for him the whole entire story. I did really enjoy how the romance happened over time and how even though for Lale it was love at first sight it wasn't super instalovey.
I enjoyed this book and would look into more of this authors works.
