This was a fun fast paced read. I enjoyed the characters witty banter with one another. I thought that there were some laugh out loud moments that really took away from some of the more cringe worthy moments.

The story would have been better for me if the Duke wasn't such a stereotypical "bad guy" who meets a nice "plain" girl and she changes his "cold dark heart." The Duke as a character was my biggest problem with this book. There were a few times when we as the reader were hearing his inner monologue and some of the things that he was thinking about Izzy were somewhat rape fantasies.

I especially enjoy our main character of Izzy and how she was stronger than she let on most of the time. I really enjoyed the way that Izzy and the Duke's relationship was consensual. I also appreciated the Duke's valet who was an amazing example of someone who was willing to stick with the Duke no matter the circumstances. I think that the valet is what made the Duke a little more human to me.

Overall I had a really fun time reading this book and would be interested in seeing where the story goes from here.

Wow this book was amazing!

This was an interesting read from the autors perspective. As a United Methodist myself I really enjoyed getting to know how this Pastor got to where she is. This opened my eyes to somethings about the LGBTQIA+ community and the church together that I had never really thought about before.
