While it is great that this book seeks to cover heavy topics in this coming of age novel, it is overall very slow paced and a bit disconjointed/rushed in places throughout the storyline.

Everyone needs to read this book - Matt Haig beautifully shares his experience battling depression and anxiety, in a way that really cuts deep to the heart. It is a very engaging twist on a typical memoir style of book and from the way he described anxiety, it gave words to how I've been feeling for a very long time.

Wow! I would not classify myself as a romance reader, but I loved this book and cannot wait to read the rest of the series! It is perfectly written to be light hearted with the best balance of humor thrown in.

Overall, this is a good book with a story on the resiliency of a fourteen year old girl as she navigates the harsh realities of the country she grows up in. While it was a bit challenging to get into at the beginning, I grew used to the narrative choice of writing style and enjoyed the character development of the main character, Adunni.

This incredibly cute middle grade has strong family themes and learning about one's ancestry. I adored this story as we followed our main character coming to terms with welcoming a younger sister and learning more about her extended family.

While this coming-of-age story is told in a unique style with the MC writing letters to an anonymous receiver, it was overall not very engaging. I almost didn't finish it because of this, but since it was a short story I figured I would finish it. However, the story didn't get better, I didn't grow attached to any of the characters, and the end reveal did not have the impact I felt it should have.

This is a really great place to start when looking to learn about Christianity and hear from others what it looked like when they began to follow God.

This is how you write a novel that hooks you from the beginning! I absolutely loved this story from start to finish. There is amazing social commentary on women, their sexuality, and LGBTQ+ matters - but more than that, it showcases a main character who embodies the complexities of being human. The progression of the story is well timed and the twists and turns only add to the main character's development. So well done!

A good, easy to read and short classic with strong themes of friendship, loyalty, and finding one's meaning/purpose - would definitely recommend!
