I find this so hard to rate because one way I want to rate this a five star but I don't think it is 100% a five star read, so I decided on a 4.5.
this book is so beautiful done. I talks about important topics. the characters feel so real and I really could relate to Emory Ward. the story have layers (someone would say layers like a onion)
sometimes I had a hard time with the writing style because it's very unique. but I now want to read more.

this is the third time I reread this book, and the only reason why I did it is for the second book, and I did not really remember what had happened anymore.
I had again an enjoyable time with it. it is a very easy book to read and to get through. The main character Oraya is one of my female character, she is strong, smart & she is funny. Raihn is also one of my favorite male characters. the plot itself is very action packed and intense. I do think the writing itself isn’t my favorite and it feels a bit repetitive. the audiobook is amazing.
it did remind me a lot of the hunger games, but I do think the author did enough to make it original.

Title: deep end
Author: ali hazelwood
Series Name (if any): none
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 (out of 5)
---
📖 One-Sentence Summary:
Deep End by Ali Hazelwood is a steamy college sports romance about a Stanford diver recovering from injury who enters a no-strings relationship with a champion swimmer, only to find herself falling for him as their connection deepens.
---
📝 My Review:
I really loved the writing style in this book—it's beautiful and easy to get into. The plot is interesting and kept me hooked more than the romance parts, which I found less engaging. However, the book feels very long, and at times it drags a bit, which made it hard to stay focused. Overall, it's a well-written story with a strong plot, but it could’ve been tighter in some places.
---
💡 Tropes:
- friends to lovers
- grumpy sunshine
- No-Strings-Attached Arrangement
- Overcoming Trauma
- BDSM Elements
---
📌 Quotes:
1. From the very start, you had all the power. From the very start, I was in the palm of your hand
2. “Sometimes, when she's in deep sleep, a thoughtful little frown furls on her brow. Lukas cannot physically get out of bed until he has smoothed it over with his lips. He used to want to prove to himself that he could thrive, even without her. He has given up on that. Now he just wants her.”
