Review of Morning Star by Pierce Brown – 4.5/5 ⭐

Morning Star is a powerful conclusion to the original Red Rising trilogy, and I’m really glad I stuck with it to the end. This novel truly delivers in terms of emotional weight, character development, and thought-provoking themes.
What I especially loved was the writing style—so smooth and easy to follow. I think it’s perfect for readers who are new to sci-fi or just starting to branch out into different genres. There are so many beautifully written moments and quotes that stuck with me. One that really hit home was:

He smiled in the end.""Do you know why? Because he knew what he was doing was right. He was fighting for love. You've made family of your friends—you always have. It made Ragnar a better man to know you, so you didn't get him killed. You helped him live. But you have to live now."

The plot is intense and the characters are unforgettable. I felt so connected to them, and the emotional highs and lows were absolutely worth it. That said, the pacing sometimes made me feel a little slumpy, so having the audiobook really helped me stay engaged and push through.

Overall, Morning Star
was an excellent read—gritty, hopeful, and beautifully written. I’d definitely recommend it, especially to readers looking to get into sci-fi with something character-driven and deeply human.

I did not finish this book, it's a dnf at page 1000. I was so close to being done. but I can't anymore. my brain hurts don't remember a single thing from this series, and it's not the author because I love his writing. but the enjoyment is gone. but because I have read 1000 pages I will mark it as read and rate it for what I did read.
